I used brown paper tickets for a ballet school recital. I made $6590 that they have not paid me. While I understand that you do not aid in collections, I hope that this could move my situation forward as another complaint against them. I did not realized it when i used them, obviously, but they have not been paying small arts organizations like mine for years!!! It seems absurd that they are still operating. I have written a dozen emails to them with no reply from anyone.Initial Complaint

Despite the lapse of nearly two months since the event's conclusion, we have yet to receive the proceeds from $12,063.00 in ticket sales from Brown Paper Tickets. As per the agreement under the Brown Paper Tickets Event Organizer Terms of Usage, payments are expected to be processed and dispatched to the Event Organizer within ten business days following the event's conclusion. The delay in payment has significantly impacted our operations and financial planning. We have made multiple outreaches to the company's support email address with no response. The phone numbers come with the disclaimer: "PHONE SUPPORT IS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE".Initial Complaint

We are a ****** area band (thedogmatics.com), and we hired Brown Paper Tickets to handle online ticket sales for two live performances: 7/22/23 @ ******************** in ******** and 8/25/23 @ ******** *********** which was a scholarship benefit for students who worked at the **** town TV and Radio station (proceeds after service fees - $2,145.00)The total owed for both shows is $4,605.00. Brown Paper Tickets claims they will deposit the ticket sales in your account 10 business days after the show is over (source: ***************************************************). That didn't happen and we've attempted all manner of customer support outreach and they've been either non responsive or evasive. So we reached out to local news stations for help. NBC10 Responds took our case, did some investigating, and contacted Brown Paper Tickets through Events.com.************************* asked if we were willing to do a live interview. ***** and I agreed and she came to Canton, interviewed us and we played a bunch of tunes and we had a great time. NBC10 then sent us an email from Events.com that said - "Events.com continues to support Brown Paper tickets with capital, and we are looking forward to completing the final phases of the acquisition, so the can accelerate their payouts. We have check with the team and can let you know that the Dogmatics payment is scheduled for the week of October 16th, 2023." Well, that date has come and gone without payment. Brown Paper Tickets has apparently ignored communications with **** We are now reaching out to BBB on this matter.Initial Complaint

Events.com owes our not-for-profit ******** elementary school $4,994.66 from an event that occurred 3/11/23. Payment was supposed to be made to us within 10 business days; the issue was escalated to the highest level still with no resolve. Since 2016 we used Brown Paper Tickets to facilitate our schools talent show ticket sales and we never had a problem until Events.com acquired them in 2022 and they wont pay us whats owed even though online Events.com says theyll pay what BPT owes ******************************************* but theyre not so we need your help to get our $4,994.66 back and for you to also look into Brown Paper Tickets BBB complaints along with events.com since BPT was acquired by events.com over a year ago and at last check had over ***** BBB complaints that sound eerily similar to ours! *************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** The Brown Paper Tickets website is still accepting new business and needs to be stopped. All parties at stake are ignoring pleas to pay back $$ owed. The real losers are the not-for-profit businesses who depend on this money for resources they otherwise cant afford. Weve tried emailing and calling anyone who we thought would listen. Even when you call their contacts, their vm says phone service are down and refer you to the Brown Paper Ticket inquiry link above which also is a rabbit hole. Weve made over 100 attempts to reach out to Brown Paper Tickets executives including the *** and Founder to no avail as well as Events.com sales, customer service, CEO, general counsel and have only spoken with one person-********************* whose handling internet leads but also coincidentally using events.com to sell bikinis *********************************************************************************************** when we spoke in September she said shed escalate but now wont answer calls/emails/texts. On 9/16/2023, our theater company (*********************** in **********) held a performance for which we used Brown Paper Tickets to sell tickets and collect funds - having used BPT since 2015, we did not expect an issue with payment. I have opened multiple support tickets and tried calling the unmanned phone number provided on the site, but still no response from the company regarding our funds. We are owed $425 for the September event, $550 for an event held in October and $290 for pre-sales of our December event which we assume we'll have just as much issue in trying to recover.Initial Complaint

We had an event on Sept. 30th and the amount due was $15,420.25. On Oct. 10 they only paid $1,620.30 leaving a balance of $13,799.95. I have emailed them several times without a response. It is now 45 days past due and they do not have a working phone and do not allow walk in service.Customer Answer

Our client's not-for-profit organization, ****** **************** had an organized event on May 27th where Brown Paper Tickets handled ticket sales and receivables. To date, Brown Paper Tickets and it's successor, Events.com (collectively BPT) have failed to pay ****** $33,525 in their ticket sales. Our client has made repeated attempts to contact Brown Paper Tickets to receive their ticket profts and have not received a response to date. Our client had no choice but to retain legal counsel to recoup their earnings. Since we sent our formal demand on October 26th, 2023, Brown Paper ticket has not acknowledged or sent a response confirming they will be refunding our client's ticket sales. We have made multiple attempts ourselves to get Brown Paper Tickets to respond to us and have still not received a response to date. If we are unable to resolve this through the BBB, we will have no choice but to file suite against Brown Paper Tickets.Initial Complaint

Twin State Derby, a 501c3 organization of which I am a principal, is owed ~$1300 in ticket sales revenue from Brown Paper Tickets for events which took place in 2023. In September, when we realized that we had not had money dispersed, we immediately shut down online tickets sales and outreached to Brown Paper Tickets and their new owner, Events.com. We have recieved no response and no payout. I know we are not alone in our current problems with this company and I am shocked that they are still permitted to operate since these same problems have been occurring since 2020. BBB needs to take additional action to prevent this financial harm from recurring.
