      On Aug 22, 2022, I parked in Lot C of ********* ** State ferry. The lot is about a 10-minute walk to the ferry terminal and has multiple signs for payment instructions. I tried to make a payment using my phone, per their instructions, by downloading my credit card information (paybyphone). I immediately got a fraud alert from my credit card via text after I downloaded my information in their App. The fake charges coincided exactly to when I downloaded my credit card info in their App. Two unauthorized charges were attempted for $39.95 and $2.99. I immediately walked 10 minutes and paid for 3 days of parking using their kiosk. Due to their insecure payment service, I was forced to spend hours with my bank on the phone trying to cancel the fraudulent charges and also had to contact my bank daily while on my vacation to monitor for further fraudulent charges. More fake charges followed and I had to cancel my card. Upon return to my car on Aug 25th I was shocked to see a parking notice on my car despite my having paid them for 3 days parking. They issued the notice while I was walking to their kiosk to figure out an alternative way of paying them. I wrote to them on August 25th. They replied almost a month later on Sept 20th. Although they voided their notice, they issued no apology and offered no reassurances how they would improve their practices to prevent future pain for customers. Amazingly they wrote that in the future I should try to find alternative ways to pay if one method does not work. That is exactly what I had done. They showed no remorse for their poor paybyphone system that resulted in a lot of hassle. I don't know if they are involved or complicit in fake charges but at best they are indifferent to how their business practices result in fraud. This business is using its parking monopoly power at the Washington State Ferry to harass ********** residents. At least install a kiosk at all your lots since your other methods are inadequate.

      Appealing Parking Ticket ********** I received a parking ticket on 08/03/2022, for reasons not clearly stated. There is no mention of any specific violation except for a photo of my plate number on the ticket. Besides, my car was not parked at the A755 lot, as the ticket claims. My car was parked in a parking structure next to it, and there is no sign indicating that Diamond manages that building.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/21/2022

      Thank you for contacting Diamond Parking with regards to the ticket #********** issued on August 3 2022, at approx.: ***** hrs.for a white 4-door ***** at Lot #A755 *********************, *******.

      Diamond Parking is indeed responsible to the landlord for several adjoining parking facilities, within this commercial block including the property this ticket was issued within. We did take the time to review our electronic forensic files and the pictures that each of our checkers capture when issuing a violation. Our file shows that the vehicle in question, was Improperly Parked rendering the adjacent stall for another customer unusable. This manner of ********************** has an immediate and negative impact on our ability to professionally accommodate all visiting vehicles.

      Although the checker was correct in issuing the violation, per our agreement with our client the landlord, on this occasion, Diamond Parking will be extending a one-time gesture of goodwill and voiding the above listed ticket from our system. Please ensure that all future parking takes place within the clearly highlighted painted lines to avoid any future violations. Thank you for reaching out.

      Best regards,

      This dispute involves a parking ticket issued on September 11, 2022 by Diamond Parking (reference #********) My complaint is that the company has not provided sufficient signage concerning the parking rules. I was a customer of one of the businesses allowed to park in the lot and only of that business. Upon finding a spot as soon as I entered the ********* walked out the same door I drove in. I'm attaching the photos taken by Diamond Parking that show my car and the walls around where I parked. The garage entrance that I walked out is to the right of my vehicle, you can see the light coming in from the open door. I also include a picture of the posted rules that they took. Those rules are only posted by an elevator that is on a lower level from where I parked. The parking ticket is for ***** CD. I've appealed the ticket but the appeal was denied.

      Dear *****,

      Our goal is to provide the reason the notice was issued, find a mutual resolution and to prevent it from happening again in the future. Please not that this location is private property and all parking rules have been created by the property owner.  Diamond Parking has been hired to enforce these parking rules as posted on the property due to the unauthorized use on the facility.

      The patroller identified your car at 10:00am and it was chalked as per the picture. There was also a 25 minute grace ****** given before ticketing, at 12:25pm.  Pictures taken at the time show the chalked tire which indicates the vehicle has not moved. There is a 2 hour maximum time limit at this location signs near the Exit / Entrance door stating this.  One of these signs can be seen on the opposite wall behind your vehicle.  You appeal was sent, however, there was not sufficient documentation provided to us to indicate that you were conducting business on the property that would allow you to be there longer than the allotted time.  In turn, Diamond Parking must uphold their contracted rules given to us to enforce.  Thank you.

      Sincerely,

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The following statement by the business is not true:

      "There is a 2 hour maximum time limit at this location signs near the Exit / Entrance door stating this.  One of these signs can be seen on the opposite wall behind your vehicle."

      I went back to the parking garage to verify and took 3 additional pictures:

      1. From the spot directly behind my parked vehicle that shows the exit I took -- the same place I entered.

      2. A picture directly behind by parked vehicle, where they said the sign is located.

      3. A close-up of the sign that is there -- No 2 hour limit is stated.

      Sincerely,

      I received a ticket and I was only there for an hour I had had a bad day that day and I guess I just ***************** the lines however I felt I parked in a spot that did not say reserved the spot next to me did I called to discuss they were extremely rude talking about my personal life where I used to work treating me as if Im a debtor keeping in mind that Ive never received a ticket in my life before. I do not agree with their treatment They dont have the right to disrespect me and talk to me about my previous work history Skiptrace me as if they are a collection agency because they are not. I dont appreciate employee number 612 especially because she told me shes a manager but clearly has no managerial skills. I have tried to bring it to HR I have brought it up the line to other employees there other than managers such as branch managers etc. Im still waiting for a response very unhappy with the way Ive been treated and I do not feel the ticket is valid how can you expect me to pay $86 for one hour of parking when I felt the lines were not clearly shown and Im a first offender. p if you read online management has said (***********************) theyre fair and understanding and willing to give everybody the right to appeal and nothing but respect ..I was told on the phone by their employees I am an idiot Im a loser I shouldnt of parked there and they dont care if I want to appeal. They made it clear its about the money. My biggest concern is them talking about my personal past they cannot Skiptrace me as if Im a debtor and then expect me to have a fair conversation with them which I continually have tried to do and thats whats so frustrating theyre training employees to be rude disrespectful and heartless, unfortunate what this world is coming to. Id hope that managers there will have some new training available for each employee so they can learn how to respect others in this world. They act like theyve never put sugar in the fridge before. I deserve respect!

      I work at a bank at *********, ********* two blocks away from the parking spot where I got the ticket.I ordered food from ********* online before driving to the spot. I arrive, and immediately took a picture of the ** code to open the website and pay for the ticket because I usually prefer to eat lunch inside my car.A ****** with a regular dress and regular vehicle with no sign or logo ( that I saw him later when he got into the car) knocked on the window while he was bending over the floor and picked up the ticket, and told me, you got a ticket because you havent paid for the parking.I told him I just arrived and I am already paying the parking fee. I was shocked, because I arrived less than a minute. I asked him who issued the ticket, but he kept repeating the sentence, you got a ticket because you havent paid for the parking.I understand I have to pay for the parking fee even if I stay in the car, but the ****** should understand people need some time to take out their phone or wallet to pay the parking fee right after occupying a spot. I could not touch my phone while I was driving to the spot to pay for the parking fee beforehand.So after I received a $86.50 payment notice, I drove away and parked my car in front of the store to avoid arguing with the ******.I request a review on the ticket, and please find a solution for the same issues in the future. Employees are trying issue tickets and hit their daily targets, or earning more. So, it is not fair for us to receive tickets like that.Ticket Information:Ref#: ******** Date: 9/9/2022 Time: 2:21 PM Officer:421 License ********* Lot code: ********* Location: *********************************** Kind Regards,*************************************

      Hello,

      Our goal with any customer is to provide the reason the notice was issued, find a resolution and to prevent it from happening again in the future.  This location is private property and has the parking rules provided to us to enforce. This particular location is a pay parking facility.  Your ticket was issued for failure to pay for parking while utilizing the stall.  At the time of the ticket the vehicle was vacant (as per picture on file).  This would mean that parking was not paid for before leaving the vehicle by an app.  If you were to go scan the ** code,then payment would have been made by the time you returned to your vehicle.  If this was the case, or if you did follow through with your intent of paying for parking at the time, please submit proof of payment. Without this, the notice would be valid.  Your desired settlement requests a billing adjustment.  As a one-time courtesy, we will provide a reduction to half the ticket amount.  To receive this reduction, please contact our office and quote your reference number.  Thank you!

      Regards,

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The pay station is only 4 meters on the left side, and I took a picture of it to pay. My typing speed is low on the phone because I genetically have Hyperhidrosis (sweaty hands) and it makes me put wrong numbers when the phone is wet. I can provide you with medical documents regarding that. So, I usually turn on AC and have my hands dry then typing. It does not take more than 2-3 minutes and I have not left the area in that time. I don't know if I was behind the wheel or out for taking picture, because I am not that big to be seen behind the seat. However, when you get ticket of $86.50 for the failure to pay, would you pay for the parking fee too? I have not continue process of payment and left the location to avoid arguing with the person.

      Please consider to re-review my request.

      My husband and I were visiting ******** for 10 days in August for our honeymoon.We received a parking ticket in error from Diamond Parking Services, but Diamond Parking refuses to acknowledge that their attendant made an error despite us disputing the ticket through their channels. We parked at ******************************************* at 12:14 p.m. on August 27th, 2022. Using the ** code on the signs located throughout the parking lot, we paid for three hours of parking and paid $10.12 USD for the parking. However, when we returned to our vehicle, we found a parking ticket given at 2:14pm stating that we did not pay for parking. The ticket states that we were parked at ******************************************, which is a different address from where we were parked. The address on the ticket is also different from the address of the lot provided on the ** code and the address of the lot that appears on the map. The parking attendant clearly had the wrong address for their own lot but refuses to acknowledge their mistake. I have uploaded supporting documentation but I also have a video showing the location of the ** code and parking stall as *******************************************, not ******************************************, that I would be happy to share with you if needed.If we do not receive a prompt refund, we will take this story to the media.

      Good morning!

      We received an email directly from ********************* yesterday. We responded to her apologizing for the error and refunding the parking notice fee. She answered us back this morning with her thanks. The following is the email we sent to her yesterday:

      ***** *********************,

      Good afternoon!

      I apologize for the issue you had with a parking notice during your recent visit. We operate four parking facilities side by side in that area and the *** on the device used to read the attendants location read it incorrectly.

      I dont know who you spoke with at Diamond Parking that wouldnt help, but I can assure you we are always willing and eager to correct any error and we never intentionally give anyone an erroneous parking notice.

      We have informed our Parking Services team to refund the parking notice fee that you paid. You should see the refund on your credit card statement in 3 to 5 business days.

      Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

      Again, we apologize for the error and for your inconvenience. Thank you for the opportunity to make it right.

      In the past week I have had my car broken into twice on friday (9/2/2022) and today in broad daylight (9/9/2022). Both times have been in diamond parking lots. I pay to park in these lots my car has been locked both times and both times have been reported to police. Diamond says its "park at your own risk" but the people of this city can't park elsewhere as they own all of the parking lots. Talking to my coworkers and neighbors this is a big problem as they have also had similar instances. We also have a problem with homeless people "camping" in the lots which has raised the crime rates. I have tried to talk to Diamond Parking about this and was told if I wanted to file any sort of complaint I needed to do it through this.

      On June 29th, 2022, I parked at what I thought was PayByPhone Lot **** in Steveston, **, while at lunch. Upon returning to my truck I discovered I had been ticketed by Diamond Parking Services for not paying for parking. This was rather confusing to me as I did pay for parking - using the PayByPhone app on my phone. When I opened the app I tapped Nearby Locations and Lot **** was all that showed up, and that was the number on the sign on the building I was nearest. I had no reason to think I was paying in the wrong location. The signage in the lot is confusing to say the least.Attached is a photo of the parking violation ticket I received, a screenshot of my active session in the PayByPhone app, and a screenshot of my receipt from the app.I have reached out to Diamond Parking several times now to explain the situation, but they refuse to cancel the violation. They keep suggesting that they have no control over the rules of the lot(s) involved, but yet they are the service provider there.

      Incident took place on 08/30 The business provides parking service to public. For the parking site, 2 hour free parking is provided to customers.However, a ticket was issued to me within the 2 hour parking period. The parking site is located at SD030 as per ticket. CHECKER number:81998, image attached.Ive tried to contact the business immediately via their provided email contact for dispute but no response has been received from the business. There are four serious issues with this businesss practice. 1. Act of fraudulent behavior: Indicating free parking and then issuing tickets attempting to collect larger fines. 2. Irresponsibility: failure to provide timely response to customer dispute 3. unlawfully issuing fines/tickets: *************** can tow peoples cars but have no such right to fine people. As only police and city authority has legal right to write parking tickets. 4. Harassment: harassing people with potential collection as indicated on their ticket. This is an attempt to force people to pay while the business in fact has no right to claim debt. No verbal or written agreement has been reached by both parties and the ticket itself is unlawfully. For above reasons, this business need to immediately cancel the parking ticket above CHECKER number:81998.I urge BBB to regulate this business to stop its current ticketing practice as it is illegal, irresponsible and deceptive.

      I parked at a parking lot in ********** operated by Diamond Parking on 8.29.22. I was just running into a building across the street to pick up a document and was planning on parking for 15 minutes. They didn't have any minimum parking times listed anywhere - and when I went to pay - they started to charge me $7.00 for 2 hours. I canceled the payment as all I wanted was a 15 minute time - but it wouldn't allow me to cancel - it just continued to process the card. So - I just took pictures of the machine and contacted the business for a refund. When I exchanged emails with *************************** (City Manager, ********** and ************, Diamond Parking Services **********: ************ ****************************************** he was absolutely dismissive of the problem and he told me there were minimum times and that the rates were posted. I sent him photos of the machines showing him that there were no rates posted at all and no minimum times listed anywhere - at which point he simply ignored all further correspondence and never responded. I'd like to make sure this predatory credit card practice and completely abhorrent customer ********************** response doesn't happen to anyone else as well as have my $7 refunded to my card and receive an apology from ***** for his despicable behavior.

      The customer parked at our property in ********** and used our pay station to purchase his parking. The pay station requires several steps that the customer needs to verify prior to making payment:

      To input his license plate number;
      The rate is then displayed;
      He would then have the option to accept the rate by pressing the OK button;
      The screen would then instruct him to insert his credit card for payment;

      Customers also have the option to not accept the rate displayed.  They can do this by selecting cancel or by accepting the rate,but simply not inserting their credit card for payment.  If no action is taken, the transaction will time out, but at the point that a credit card is inserted, the transaction cannot be cancelled.

      Once all of these steps have been completed and payment has been made we do not have a means of verifying how long the customer remained parked, whether it was for 10 minutes or 2 hours.  Therefore, we do not provide refunds after purchase.

      Our correspondence was terminated after the customer became upset and responded in an unprofessional manner that we do not subject our employees to.

      I am rejecting this response because it doesn't address any of the problems I encountered with the parking machine OR with ******* attitude. ***** is suddenly very contrite and professional once he has to answer to the BBB - but he was FAR from helpful or polite when it was just simply a customer reaching out who needed help.  He can pretend to play nice while a 3rd party is watching - which is why I contacted the BBB in the first place, to hold him accountable - but he was absolutely horrible to deal with.  If there was any frustration on my end - it was BECAUSE of the dismissive nature with which he approached the entire situation.   I submitted photos to the BBB of my correspondence with *********************** has not shown any evidence to indicate my behavior was in anyway unprofessional.  I know how to use parking machines.  I use them regularly...however - all of them have the option to park for LESS THAN 2 HOURS - which was my goal.  This machine did not.  AND it did not have ANY markings on the machine or the property saying there was a 2 hour minimum or what the rates were.  The photos I submitted clearly show that - despite anything ***** may say to the contrary.  Words are one thing - pictures are factual proof.  ***** has no proof - ***** just has his lying words. While ***** is correct about the process of inserting my credit card he fails to mention that you have to insert your card in order to see what time you're being charged for.  I inserted my card because I assumed I would be able to choose the time after I inserted the card since there was no display of time/rate prior to that. BUT once I inserted it - the machine immediately started charging me $7 for 2 hours although I only needed to be there for ******************************************************************* it was a 2 hour charge.  At that point - I tried to cancel - and it wouldn't allow me.  Which - I'm sure is the goal of such deceptive practices.  When there are other places to park around there that allow parking for less than 2 hours - why would I ever park there for a quick in and out pickup of some documents at a local business unless I was being tricked into it through deceptive business practices?  ******* continued disrespect of my customer experience and attempt to ignore his terrible behavior in defense of $7 only further explains why I felt the need to contact BBB.  I can only hope the complaint reaches a superior eventually and someone holds ***** accountable for his abhorrent behavior.

      Sincerely,
