Had them for our merchant services. We were offered a better rate through another company. I have been trying to close our account for almost a year and can not get any one to help me. They have been charging me a $10.00 fee per month for almost a year. I tried calling again today, finally got someone on the phone who proceeded to put me on hold (she said 3 to 5 minutes) 35 minutes later I just hung up. I have tried calling back multiple times and keep being disconnected. This company is awful and their customer service is terrible. They are crooks. Keeping me from closing the account so they can continue to just take ten dollars from me every month.First Data

To start, I would have love to leave a higher review given our business dealings early on. However, as of 2022, the company has changed our rates, and we're paying double to triple the amount of processing fees. The customer service is hit-or-miss. We spoke to one lady who was kind enough to explain the way the company processes transactions, but after her, there has been nothing but problems. I believe they are targeting businesses that were given below market rates, and they recoup the losses towards the end of the contracts. This company is a prime example of why businesses have to continually switch processors to find that honest one.First Data

We were contacted by First Data regarding our POS systems being obsolete and needing to upgrade. After researching alternatives to another lease/contract, I decided to switch to Square and terminate our policy with First Data. I was emailed by an account rep and contacted by yet another to try and persuade me that Square's marketing was fraud, and the rates they provide are wrong...etc. I simply asked for the protocol to terminate our accounts. I was told our leasing provider needed to be contacted and our POS Systems had to be returned to them before First Data would confirm termination. I questioned this, as our lease was completed, and nothing was owing on our account (they can have the old POS systems...what I am I supposed to do with them if they are actually obsolete?). First Data gave me an incorrect phone number (to a property leasing company), and after calling back twice, I ended up getting in contact with the correct company who told me that the lease was complete and they could not provide any further information. I contacted First Data and explained my frustrations, and the rep said she would forward this to the correct dept to follow up. I spend hours over all this on the phone and have gotten nowhere. First Data is still attempting to debit our accounts (unsuccessfully), and we have not processed any transactions since early summer. I cannot get any termination confirmation in writing. I am at a complete loss as to ensure our dealings are discontinued. Not only that, but the years of business we have done with them seems completely disregarded. Boy were we taken for a ride. Unfortunately we signed with them and are now stuck.
We were quoted a flat rate of 1.8 +10¢. First charges came through and there are interchange charges and credit card company charges etc. should have stuck with Square
Then I wanted to add and authorize.net account. Took me 48 hours just to get ahold of someone. Tried calling him back and his number was disconnected. Called the main number and they tried getting ahold of him… disconnected. Finally it got set up but I have no idea by who. Never any communication whatsoever. Auth.net let me know it was set up and got me up and running. Should have stuck with Square.
Finally, we wanted to purchase an additional Clover Go reader (think square card reader… you know, the cheap one). All the prices on their site say $49. I called sales (you HAVE to talk to sales… you can’t just our base… my assumption is because of the clear bait and switch tactics) and she said that the price was $180. 180 for a small card reader!!! I asked why not $49… she said we only give that price to new customers. You have to Pay $180.
Again, should have stuck with Square. Their fees are cheaper and they’re much easier to deal with. Needless to say I’ll be using our square reader as much as possible for events and curbside orders.First Data

Greetings to all!
We tried to start a business called The Corner Lounge. Due to a number of business restrictions, it remained closed for a very long time following its attempt to open after Covid.
As a result of financial and municipal law reasons, we had to close it after trying to start it from scratch from 16th February to 21st March. The POS vendor (Ryan ***) kept delaying with the excuse that he would pass this agreement on to another merchant despite multiple attempts to communicate the same.
As a result, we kept paying off the bills and it never happened. He never helped us to get this sorted out to close the account later on because of no revenue.
The bill is still being sent and he has stopped answering our calls and messages. As a result of the lack of after-sales service, we now receiving mail from collections and credit unions.
Here is an example of the worst customer service ever and illegal customer handling practices. I would like you to take care of this issue and handle it. Since they wanted us to reach out to them for all queries, it was very hard to contact you via email.
Currently, we have two businesses with us;
1. The Corner Lounge
2. The Painted Turtle Guesthouse
We are happy with the services for "The Painted Turtle Guesthouse". we don't wish this reason to be affecting our business relation.

We were in business with FirstData/CardConnect for almost 15 years. They had a breach in their security system and our account was compromised. Unknowingly, for several weeks, the individual was using our business to charge stolen credit cards. FirstData/CardConnect authorized via an ONLINE PORTAL the transfer from our bank account to a fraud account set up by Wells Fargo. They approved fake checks and fake bank statements that to even the most clueless individual, are visually fake. Not once did we receive interaction from a human in regards to these changes or the insane charges that were suddenly being made from our business account. Since then, we have been dealing with their incompetent customer service people, Patti Pleichner specifically, over at Fiserv telling us that CardConnect is claiming this isn't a fraud issue when it obviously is. They want to deflect the blame for their mess up and lack of security and are trying to corner us into paying $57k+. They are harassing us for money we do not have and were never involved with. Steer clear of these company's if you want to be protected as a customer, we now have to incur legal fees to make sure this gets resolved.First Data

I am no longer with the credit card processing company that set me up with the terminal lease with First Data so the terminal is now useless. They will only allow me to break the lease if I pay the rest of the payments in one lump sum or find someone to take over the lease. So basically, they want over $1800 to buy out the lease on a machine that isn't worth $300. Oh, and they want the machine back so they can ***** someone else out of money with it. Normal reputable companies offer to break a lease for a reasonable fee because things happen and things change. As I have just read, this company is no stranger to robbing people or turning a blind eye to their employees committing fraud with their clients' information. DO NOT LEASE ANYTHING FROM FIRST DATA Any device that you lease will end up costing you 4X as much as its worth minimum. Then if you want to return it First Data tells you they are not Authorized to Generate a return shipping label until the day they of your last payment, you know so you might forget to call on the exact day you need to. This is so they can continue to charge you for a device that they already made 500x profit on. Made up policies just so they can manipulate the very businesses they rely on to operate.All I want is a Shipping label and they can't even provide that.First Data

Promised to send me acall tech/return label to send the device back but never sent me return label and instead kept charging me money. Why the hell do you accept digital signatures on the lease?
