From I’ve ordered from this company many times throughout the years. If you have a problem with a bulb, save it and take pictures of it. same thing with a plant. I had some dahlia bulbs that didn’t make it, and I contacted the company and they promptly Issued a refund. Ordered tulips, daffodils, begonias. Everything has performed relatively well. Keep in mind you can’t control the deer, rabbits, squirrels that might dig up your bulbs. Also had stuff not perform well because the area I planted it in was dry and had dogs doing their business on it.Holland Bulb Farms

I ordered from them and did not hear back- no replies to my email, no one picking up phone. Gave up and asked for a refund, which they did reply to. However the plans I had spent hours making were scrapped and I ended up quickly ordering some random bulbs from another company. I'm not happy as I didn't have time to really think about what flowers I wanted and how they'd look together etc.Don't order from them, your bulbs will not come. It was weeks after what the website said they would start shipping and no update.Holland Bulb Farms

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you were disappointed with the timeline our bulbs shipping to you. When you placed your order, we were still shipping our preorders that we began accepting in early March. Per the schedule found on our website and also in the link in your confirmation email, we ship all Fall orders once complete and in the order they were placed. Since you placed your early late in our preorder sale, orders prior to yours were shipping first. You also ordered some Amaryllis. Per the shipping page on our site and also in the description of the Amaryllis, those begin shipping in early to mid November when they are available to us. I do apologize for any confusion. For future reference, please review our shipping information page prior to ordering so you are aware when orders ship. We also recommend signing up for our email newsletters so you are aware when our preorders begin. Placing an order earlier during our sale will ensure the order will ship earlier. Hello,The reply from this company is a copy paste that they put on every review here on BBB. It took them a long time to do even just that, which shows how poor their customer service is.This copy paste does not address what occurred to me. I was aware of the shipping times as indicated in the website. I waited til well beyond that. I wanted an update as to WHEN mine would ship, as it does say when shipping begins and that they ship in the order that the orders were put in. But I could not get ANY information from them as to when mine would ship. It was several weeks beyond already and there was no way to know if the order was coming soon, or in another month, or what.I sent an email initially, then I tried calling two different times, both during their stated hours. I left two voicemails, and did not get a reply to either, nor my email. The only email they did reply to was to my request to cancel the order since I had not received a reply or been able to contact them for a few weeks.I find the company copy paste response very irritating as it is so lengthy and it is nonsense. I am annoyed that I need to clarify so that it is clear that the case they described is not what occurred.Maybe next time just try apologizing instead of copy pasting some long response as if the customer just didn't read the website.Also, this line "feel free to contact us directly" is obnoxious as well. That makes it sound as if I didn't try contacting them and just posted here on BBB. That is not the case. I did contact the company directly. They didn't reply,Review fromLinda J

I just received and planted my order of Allium bulbs (Ostrowskianum, Ping Pong, Summer Drummer & Blue). Every bulb looked very healthy and I am hopeful for wonderful blooms in 2024. One word of caution is to not rely on the Planting Depth guide on the bulb packaging. Every package recommended a depth of 4-6" and a spacing of 4-6", however, the Blue Allium (aka Azure Allium) should only be planted 2-3" deep and 2-4" apart; and the Ostrowskianum Allium should only be planted 3-4" deep. Both varieties are small bulbs. Be sure to check the Holland Bulb website for the correct planting depth. The height on the Ping Pong package also does not match the website. Height on package = 36-48", but on website = 20-24"Holland Bulb Farms

The planting depths recommendations are provided from the suppliers that grow the bulbs for us. The information is all provided on our website to view at any time. However, human error can occur when the labels are being printed but we always do the best we can to correct any issues in the future. If you ever come across information on the packages that doesn't match our site, please let us know and we would do whatever we can to make the appropriate adjustments. Ordered over $100 of bulbs first week of September to plant in the fall. Nothing in the ordering process stated the bulbs were not in stock. Sent an inquiry 10 days later for tracking and was told I would not receive tracking until early to mid October. Waited until October 15th to reach out again, did not receive an email back. Sent another email requesting tracking or refund and two days later got a response saying "Thank you for your interest in our company and for contacting us regarding your need to cancel your order" Which was really aggravating because I requested tracking information for my order, and if that could not be provided then yes, I wanted my money back because I never got what I paid for.Holland Bulb Farms

All Fall planted items do currently have Fall Pre-order listed as ship time. Each individual item does state that until they do go in stock later this month when all preorders are shipped. We do provide our shipping schedule on our website to review at any time during the ordering process and also a link to that page in your confirmation email. As indicated in the schedule, we do ship out all orders in the order placed and do prioritize colder climates as they have a much shorter planting window. Items on your order do also state they are late harvest and don't arrive to us from Holland until early to mid-October. Although the items did arrive, we do ship out orders placed early in our preorder sale which did begin in early March. That does take us a bit of time to get through all preorders. In the email you sent on 10/16/24 you did state you wanted tracking or a refund. Unfortunately since your order did not ship as it was placed later during our sale and did have late harvest, we were not able to provide tracking so we did go ahead and refund as you had requested. Tracking is only provided when an order is shipped, we can't track it with a deliver date until then. Again, since that could not be provided as orders placed prior to yours and those in colder climates are still shipping, we did what you had asked and refunded the order. I apologize if that was not what you were requested. For future reference, please refer to the shipping schedule found on our site to get an idea when an order will ship. If you would like your order earlier, I would also recommend to not order those items that are labeled on the site as late harvest and also place earlier during the sale. I guess I expected more from Holland Bulbs as it was a name I was familiar with. I placed an order for some fancy filly tulips. While I was on their site I ordered some other items (I was already paying shipping, why not). The bulbs I wanted, the reason I placed the order, were moldy when they arrived. I separated the bad ones and planted 1/2 of them. I notified HBF and they told me that as only 3 were bad, they would refund my money (half had to be bad for a replacement). The next weekend I planted the remaining bulbs only to find 3 of them were moldy as well. I contacted HBF again, but as they had already refunded me $2.04 the could only credit me for the other $2.04. I just wanted the bulbs. Lost a customer over $4.08 worth of bulbs. I will stick with my local nursery.

I do apologize part of the package arrived in poor condition. Unfortunately all of our packages are prepackaged by our supplier and we cannot break apart those packages to just send a few replacements if they are not in good condition. Therefore, we did take into account the price you paid and prorated the amount to refund based off how many were bad. I purchased a variety of daffodils and crocus last fall that were quite nice in the last months of winter when they came up and were in bloom. My saffron has returned and has just began to bloom this week. While there were issues with certain varieties all issues were resolved quickly. I look forward to ordering more soon.Holland Bulb Farms

I ordered a large amount of perennials, bulbs, and other items. I had a Beautiful bed professionally made with compost, Peet Moss, and variety of planting soil. I planted my bulbs and plants three days after they arrived. I had everything planned out. I watered every day. I had one plant that looked like it was going to survive, but it didn’t. Nothing survived. I tried getting a refund for over a month. I got a hold of a supervisor answered all the questions and then they told me I am getting a credit. I’ve had this done before with Holland Bulb and I have always got a refund when something didn’t grow and they told me I was wrong so now they expect me to order plants that they already shown they are not reliable. I would prefer my money back and go somewhere else. I do not want to go and re-order and have the same problem. I will have to turn around and have to go through the same ordeal again it’s a waste of my time. never again will I buy from Holland bulb. If I’m stuck using a credit, I’ll buy an ornament of some sort, but it will not be some kind of flower that’s supposed to grow. I am so frustrated Buyer bewareHolland Bulb Farms

Hello,Thank you for reaching out to **. I'm sorry to hear the items were not successful for you this past season. We do take pride in shipping high quality plant material. We do also have a 100% Grow Guarantee for all items for the first growing season. Within that Grow Guarantee, we do state we do not offer refunds for items that fail to grow but we do issue a store credit. This policy hasn't changed in several years. We promise to ship out quality bulbs that are viable upon arrival. If the items are deemed viable upon arrival and are planted, it is likely environmental issues or planting technique that may have caused the items to fail. Since those factors are out of our control, we do not issue refunds. We do offer a store credit however that is valid for 2 years after the date issued that can be used on any order within that 2 years. This enables our customers to choose to try the same items again or to try items that may be better suited for their environment. I am sorry you are not happy with our policies. We do always recommend all of our customers review the Guarantee prior to purchasing to understand our policies before an order is placed. We also do print our policies on the back of all packing slips placed in all shipments that leave our facility. Again, I do apologize you are not happy with the success rate of the items purchased from our company. Amazing! I have the best flowers on the block and beautiful colors. All my bulbs came in healthy and large and in a timely fashion. All bloomed and have made me super happy to get out on the yard to weed just so me and the grandbabies can see the new flowers and colors. I have purchased plants and bulbs from Holland Bulb Farms several times now. I have always had great experiences with the bulbs in particular. They have always bloomed beautifully, and sometimes even come back the following year when I didn't expect them! HBF has a great selection, especially of Tulips and other spring blooming bulbs. This year I also used them to purchase some other kinds of plants, such as later blooming bulbs which I could plant in the spring and some bare root plants. Once again the bulbs did great, and some of the bare root plants, such as the hostas, also flourished. I did have a few bare root duds that never made it, but HBF has great customer service and they refunded me for those plants no questions asked! My only feedback is that if you buy one of their variety packs of bulbs and roots, they aren't always labeled, so you have to use guesswork as to which one you are planting. Otherwise, no complaints and I recommend.Holland Bulb Farms
