They delivered an international container to our house, we filled it and then they took it and have stopped returning our calls. We can see the container has not left our town a month later, and any calls to U-Haul are not returned. So they have our stuff, in the source town, and are charging us to store it instead of shipping it.U-Haul International Inc

I have had numerous rental experiences with U-Haul, and unfortunately, they have never been smooth. I have come to expect that there will always be some issue, but I have never experienced a safety concern until my rental on 10/***** husband picked up a U-Haul trailer, and the staff hooked it to our truck. While driving it home, he noticed that the trailer was bouncing a lot, but he hoped it would resolve once it was loaded. The next day, I drove the trailer on a 4+ hour road trip to deliver furniture, and it towed seamlessly without any issue. However, when I towed it back home empty, it was extremely bouncy and tugged at the truck hitch, making it feel unsafe to tow.I called U-Haul to ask if I could return the trailer a day early at a different location, but I was told no. After being rerouted to several different people, I was told that I didn't have the trailer connected properly. Roadside assistance was sent to check the trailer, and they confirmed that the connection was correct, but they couldn't assess how the trailer tows while the vehicle is moving.I called U-Haul again to ask to return the trailer to a local site, and they said the fee would be over $500. I was also given the option to take the trailer to a different city, have a U-Haul employee assess if the trailer was at fault, and then the fee would be waived. At this point, I was frustrated and felt like my time had been wasted.I decided to put bags of self-mix concrete and anything heavy in the trailer to add weight, and then I started the 4+ hour drive back home. The trailer towed just fine with the added weight, and I realized that it needed weight not to bounce, which was never mentioned to **** have towed empty trailers before and have never experienced the severity of bounce and tug that I did with this U-Haul trailer. I have not received any apologies or compensation for my time, and it's disappointing that companies like U-Haul can treat customers this way.U-Haul International Inc

I shipped a box (pod thing) using uhaul. They told me these pods are shipped on a gentle ride truck and safe. I drove a uhaul trick to my destination and they contacted me to tow someone else's pod behind me. I wasn't asked if I was capable and I'm sure the customer was told their property was going on a gentle ride truck with a picture of the truck being loaded.This is shady, unsafe, and who had my property? What I'd they were a felon and I shipped a firearm or other personal protection devices? What if they just stole my property? Uhaul only cares about their bottom line.I was charged over 2k for my property to be shipped but was quotes 350 dollars to drive someone elses. This is a scam and an outright LIE with how they run this side of their business.U-Haul International Inc

I am rating Uhaul a zero for the following reason:I had scheduled my move up to 2 months in advance and the day before I was scheduled to move my belongings (September 29th) out of storage Uhaul called me and conveyed they did not have a truck available until the first of October. This unavailability cost me rent from the storage unit of $200: money I could have used for fueling my move. I conveyed this most unfortunate cost to Uhaul yet no one even offered to refund the difference caused on their behalf. I asked the storage personnel for a waiver of payment for the month of October, however I was still charged to get my belongings out even though Uhaul created this situation.I hope I get an answer from upper management about compensating/reimbursing this cost. Stopped by to get some propane tanks filled on 11/14/24 at approximately 11 am. I set the empty cylinders on and by the crade to be filled. The person that approached told me that I needed to move my truck because another customer had gotten into a small panel truck after I had unloaded everything. He told me that he wouldn't fill the tanks until I moved my truck. I asked "how many feet" twice, and he responded with any of those spaces because I assume he thought I had blocked the customer in. I had approached the customer that had just got into the truck if I needed to move, he said no, it was okay. I told the person filling the tanks that the other customer said it was okay. He immeditately stated I am not serving you. I was stunned! As he turned away, he stated, "just move your shi#". I said "what did you just say". He responded " just move your stuff". I'm in my mid sixties, 5 lower back surgeries, neck is doubled fused and am recovering from a knee replacement. Throwing cylinders in and out of a truck for no reason because an employee doesn't want to provide customer service is puzzling. Never been refused service anywhere. Just incredible! I've never seen such poor customer service like this before. I've been at same store for propane refills and everyone else is great. This behavior should to be addressed. He immediately called the manager after he walked away and I parked my truck in a different location to go into the store to talk to someone in charge. He blocked me from approaching the desk and handed me a business card. There were 3 personnel onsite and the two gentlemen stated they were the only ones onsite.U-Haul International Inc

I thought I had a good experience with U-Haul. That is until I read my bank statement. I noticed I was charged twice for the rental. It turns out that because I dropped the truck off at a different location, I was charged the full amount twice. I understand that this was mentioned in the fine print of the contract you sign, but that in itself is predatory for many reasons. You are asked to sign a contract with a line of 20 people behind you. obviously I will not have time to read everything. I wish this information was told to me when I was in the rental process. Additionally, this issue was mentioned when dropping of the truck at the other location and the workers there didn't mention that this action would result in being charged. I contacted support and was told that I would be further contacted about this issue but never was. I just think they are a slimy company now and I wouldn't recommend renting with them. I think they are predatory and probably tell their employees to not inform patrons about certain things to make more money. gross.U-Haul International Inc

I am sorry to hear you had an issue with your U-Haul rental. At the time of rental, you requested to
rent in-town. We had no indication you
would be dropping the rental equipment at an alternate location, therefore,
this was not discussed. As you
mentioned, the contract you signed states I understand that the equipment
must be returned to the same U-Haul location where it was rented. I understand that the minimum rental charge
for equipment returned to a different location is twice the amount of the
current One-Way rate from this U-Haul location to the actual drop-off location. Again, I do apologize, but also hope you will
allow U-Haul to serve you again in the future.

Gentleman heard me walk in, walked past me and said "hold on" and walked outside. It's 9:45am when my reservation is set. 10 minutes go by and he's out there laughing and joking around with someone else while I'm still waiting. The unprofessionalism is outstanding! They're cutting into the 5 hour rental window I signed up for. It's been ***** minutes and no one ever came out. I am cancelling the reservation and better believe I'll be back if they try to charge me for that!U-Haul International Inc

This place shouldn't be running and its sad that haul continue to allow this place to stay open first of all the manager ****** is very unprofessional she rushes customers, over talk customers and her actions shows that Shes not wanting to work there. my experience had been similar to all the others that has filed a complaint against her as well as this business. She once told me when i was wanting to rent a truck that my license wasn't valid when it was. she told me i had to go to the nearest *** because they done something to my license long story short i did go to the dmv and come to find out there had been nothing wrong with my license i asked her could my husband rent the vehicle before going to the dmv she stated that he couldn't because there had been something wrong with my license mind you i knew this wasn't true because I've rented hauls before i actually rented one the week before coming to this location . the manager is def the problem she's very unprofessionalU-Haul International Inc

I reserved 15' truck to be picked up at 10:00 am from a location near me a week before my move. the DAY BEFORE, I got a call saying they could only give a 26' truck at 12:00. I had friends coming to help move, my whole day was planned around a 10am pick up time. After being placed on hold, I was told I could pick up a 26 ft truck at 10 from a different, farther location, but no one was there, so I would have to use the self check in on the app, which was a nightmare. It took 40 min to get the truck, It wanted pictures of my passport, lease, my work contact info. App kept crashing and I had to reenter the information several times. It was a literal scavenger **** trying to find the lock box. Will NOT use again. Renting a truck was supposed to be the easiest part of a stressful day and ended up the biggest nightmare.U-Haul International Inc

Very deceptive marketing. Ex pro hauler here. No the supermover 26 truck does not ride like a van and haul like a truck. It has a V10 gas engine which is comically underpowered for an F650 that weighs close to *****lbs empty. It hauls like a light van. It just has a lot of space. Ride quality is fairly good as long as youre fully loaded. If youre empty, it rides worse than a one ton truck. Next is the ** is designed to turn off during hard acceleration SAVING FUEL nonsense. That saves an indiscernibly small amount of fuel. It doesnt save the renter ANY money. What it does is put less strain on the severely underpowered engine saving UHAUL money. The misleading part is to do with the hard acceleration no the ** turns off if youre doing anything over 50mph on any road that isnt dead level or a downgrade (but not too much of a downgrade.)Where this gets really fun is on 80mph speed limit interstate 80 in the desert of **** and ******. Fully loaded, youve got to keep the pedal to the floor just to be going a safe speed. Any good EMS tech or cop will tell you, speed doesnt kill. Slow moving vehicles around fast moving vehicles kills. So, its 110 degrees outside, the underpowered gas engine is gasping for breath, youve got the pedal to the floor trying to maintain 60-70mph depending on the grade, and youre either stuck with open windows, stagnant air, or hot blasting unconditioned air from the engine compartment. This is actually extremely dangerous. Ultimately, uhaul uses deceptive marketing to act like theyre trying to save you money, whereas they make dangerous design choices that endanger you and those around you in the name of saving themselves money.U-Haul International Inc
