I made reservations for April 15 or 16, 2022, I got a call that day and they informed me that they didnt have the size truck, I needed, because of that I had to leave some of my furniture and my daughter and son in law was helping me move from *******. The truck was too small for 3 so I ended up getting a motel for the night and flying back. The company offered me200 out of ******* bill. I left a dining room set a kitchen table set a tv and a few other items because of this, so I have to buy new furniture when I move..U-Haul International Inc

This was a terrible experience. I called earlier to get the cost to rent a dolly. I spoke with a nice representative by the name of *******. She shared all the information that I asked for. I show up later to rent the dolly with my 2 young grandchildren. They claimed that ALL of the appliance dollies were all rented out&10x10 trucks were as will. So, I just rented the regular dolly. When I got ready to pay after they had asked me for my information. I went to pay with *********** claimed that they would have to get a $60 deposit from me in order to rent a $7.50 dolly. Yet if I used my credit card it was no deposit charge. Interesting and then **************** who was the repres inputted my credit card information MANUALLY, I was very hesitant about it & asked questions about process. He printed a receipt & gave to me. I didn't pay attention to the name on the receipt yet when I came to return it the next day *****. Jan 12th, I saw that he, ****** had put someone else's name on the rental contract and I brought it to their attention and they made light of it. The girl representative ******* who was part of the crew that was there the day before, (Wed Jan.11) she returned the dolly in the system & was rude about it. I asked for a receipt & pointed out the discrepancy. I took a picture of her & the dolly to make sure I had a record of it. The receipt also had ANOTHER email on it & not mine. Wasn't asked for it. My issue is the miss handling of people's personal ****************** took it lightly like it didn't matter. I called the U-Haul number on the receipt & spoke to a representative by the name of ****** on Saturday, 1/14 and she was trying to put my name on the receipt after it had been checked out & turned back in. She was very polite, yet problem was not resolved. When you are taking care of your customers, their information should be imputed & checked to make sure that it is correct People ****************** have been violated because of poor customer service.U-Haul International Inc

This location is a money grabber. This is my second time having problems with this location. I never have any problems from any other location but this one. During this rental they rented me a van that was just returned by someone else . The van wasnt checked, cleaned, sanitized or serviced. The check engine light was on and the van needed to be serviced. My sales rep never to me or showed me my mileage and he never checked van and to list my mileage & the markings on the even after I asked him to and told him about the marks on the van. I didnt the van that. I left van at the location parked across the street where they parked other vehicles at. I have a video also. I have pictures and videos of the van before it left the lot and when I returned it. I also have a video of the sales rep stating that he didnt check the van even after I told him about the marks. I have pictures of the marks before and after. I have pictures of the oil change light and the van needed to be serviced. They still to charge for insurance the rep made it clear that I wouldnt be. I I called this past Thursday and inform customer service that I would stop by the location on Monday to get everything straight and they still charged me when it wasnt authorized. I have been waiting to here from the manager of this location which I never heard from. This is the 2nd time having problems. The 1st time they charge me $150 dollars for insurance on a pickup even after I provided them with the insurance info. At this point U-Haul you won and never have to worry about ever doing business with your location again.U-Haul International Inc

I rented a van to take my new TV from Target to my place on Hilltop and was charged for 32 miles. **** I asked about it they said they're not going to help me and shooed me out the door. I've been told by corporate that the ******* location will reach out to me but never did. Absolutely unprofessional. Will not be using U-Haul again; especially since almost everyone else is cheaper.U-Haul International Inc

I want to start by saying that according to all the customer support and the clerk at the ********************** place this seems to be a corporate business practice. I set up my reservation and I could not do it online. I call customer support and explain my problem and they sent me to scheduling and with there help set up my reservation. I arrive a few minutes prior to the reservation and told the clerk why I was there. she call for someone else and told them my name and that I wanted a trailer. the clerk ask me for a 2nd person for the contract, ( so i thought no problem make sense) and I provide my wife's name and contact info. The clerk then ask for a 3rd person. I told them I didn't have a third person and he told me that I could not rent the trailers. I was very upset, I am leaving tomorrow and I ***'t have the trailer, which I needed. I then called customer service again. guess what they did, *** sent to me scheduling. I spoke to lady from scheduling who had to put me on hold to ask someone else about the the 3rd person and it seems that is a business practice She stated that I could use sister, brother mother etc... I told here I am an only child and both my parents are deceased. she then as about a co worker or friend. Then it *** on me that there are collecting personal information so the they can sale names and numbers, what other reason could it be, i can rent a car and its only me on the application with a 2nd contact. they ***'t ask for a 3rd person. when I make a hotel or air b and b, again no 3rd party so bad on them if that is what they are doing. in the end, I was left without a trailer and had to rush to make new arrangements for what I needed. one thing for sure is that they will not longer have my business ever again.U-Haul International Inc

Every customer is required to provide meaningful assurance to ensure the equipment returns to the place, at the agreed upon time and in the same condition as when it left the lot. Alternate contacts is a method of meaningful assurance for U-Haul - each company has their own policy in regard to their rentals. I wish I could leave a quarter of a star. It doesn't matter how much work you do for this company they do not care about your job or home situations and no regard for domestic violence issues. You are just a number to them and if you can't be there to answer the phone, you don't matter. And HR is a joke. DON'T TRUST THEM. THEY WORK FOR THE COMPANY, NOT YOU.U-Haul International Inc

01/02/2023 I went to get a table out of my storage only to find mice/rats crawling around my furniture. I was in shock! I closed my unit and went to the office to complain and to get the manager and corporates number. The staff that was working had no regard. She didn't acknowledge me when I came in the door. So I stood there and I finally asked if she was busy. She looked around then signaled for me to come to the desk. I explained to her what was going on and told her I needed the manager and corporate's number. She didn't give me anything. Instead told me to get corporate's number offline. As for the manager, I saw there were business cards on the desk so I picked one up and asked her was this the manager. She said yes. I called the manager....LACK OF EMPATHY!!!!!! I found corporate's number off line and called to complain. Moving to yesterday 01/04/2023....I went back to the storage to see if I could get the animals on camera. NO NEED!!!! THERE WERE DROPPINGS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!! MY FURNITURE IS RUINED!!!!!!! OVER $5000 GONE DOWN THE DRAIN! I HAVE NO BED, NO COUCH, MY CHILD HAS NO FURNITURE ONLY A CRIB IN MY OTHER STORAGE. I filed a claim and attached the pictures. I paid over $200 monthly since July just to end up salvaging my hard earned money. The claims department contacted me today 01/05/2023 and only offered me $1000 because that's the insurance that was offered to me.. I WAS PAYING $200.17 A MONTH FOR MY PROPERTY TO BE PROTECTED. IT WASN'T....SO NOW WHAT? ONLY $1000 BACK FOR MY FURNITURE AND I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WERE LEVELS OF INSURANCE.....I LITERALLY BROKE DOWN IN FRONT OF THE GENERAL MANAGER YESTERDAY BECAUSE THAT'S MONEY WASTED!!! I have to start completely over. A single mother who was only trying to get back on my feet just to have to live with family longer because I have to purchase all new furniture. I recently rented a U-haul from this site. I was told that I had to begin the process online to rent the U-haul and ***** stated she was able to complete the process once I had entered my personal and payment information. She received a link and added my daughter as a permissible driver. When I looked at the paperwork, I noticed a charge for insurance and questioned ***** about it. Her statement was "it's u-haul's insurance but you don't have to use their insurance you can use your insurance". So my next statement was " will it cover me and my daughter even though I live in ************** and she lives in Kingsville and she will be the one driving the u-haul?" Her statement was "yes, it will cover both of you". On my way home, my daughter had an accident in the uhaul. U-Haul won't give me a complete copy of the contract stating they are not able to retrieve it. I called U-haul and spoke to *****, RepWest U-hauls insurance, my insurance, ***************************, Allstate Claims rep, spoke to U-Haul's regional manager *****************************, U-Haul purges all information once equipment is returned according to **************. Why would U-haul purge information that should be kept for at least a year in case something like what happened to me comes up? I'm certain I am not the first person that has been through this.First ***** screws up the contract because my daughter was not listed anywhere, then why they don't keep relevant information that would be of assistance to customers, and why in the world would ***** tell me that my insurance would cover the accident. This is poor practice on U-hauls part. U-Haul should be training the people they are allowing to rent their equipment out so that they are not giving false statements and s******* up contracts. Who in their right mind would not pay the extra $42 if they knew that the permissible drivers would not be covered. I was referred to ***********************-Field Manager, *************************** - uhaul rep and *********************** his assist. No one ever calledU-Haul International Inc

I rented a Cargo Van for 5 days with the intent of returning early. Turned out I only needed it for 2 days. When I returned it early I was charged the same amount as if I would have kept it for the 5 days. I would like my refund of 3 days.U-Haul International Inc
