Not a great experience.on the reservation it says we will receive a call 24hours before to confirm,we dont get a call so we call them to confirm. They give us the location to go to and confirm pick up time. We arrive at location and the tow dolly we needed was not available. Apparently the people who were supposed to drop it off had not done so yet. was told once its dropped off they will call us. Never received a call,but at this point we no longer wish to do business with this company. Disappointed in the way they do reservations with so little turn around time until they rent it out to the next person. Leaves very little wiggle room for mistakes like this. Big inconvenience for us as now we have to drive two vehicles cross country instead of driving one and towing the other. I think company needs to figure out a better system for making reservations.U-Haul International Inc

Just returned pickup truck, rented for 2 days. Noticed I was charged for 3 days and 3 days ins. Plus mileage charged increase by 10 cents. Called to find out why. Seems mileages is due to weekend rate. This is not mention anywhere in their ads. Charged extra day because there system is set up to record time from pickup 24 hours. But the time they give you to return is not the same time. So if you walk out with keys at 9 :27am and you reciept says return at 10:00am. If you don't return it before 9:27 you get charged another day. They need to get all there computers on the same system of timing. And give correct return time. I know a lot of people drop off keys and never look at receipts, sounds like a way for company to make extra money and ******* people.U-Haul International Inc

Hello *****, I am sorry about the issues you had with your rental charges. I see you have already been refunded for the extra day charges. I also checked the mileage rate and do not see it was increased between when you made the reservation and when you returned the rental. The same rate is listed for the entire rental process. I rented a storage unit and left a key at the front desk to have the door to the unit fixed (it was hard to open). I was too busy with work to move my items for a little over a week. When I went to move in, the lot was so full I could not gain access to the dock to unload my items. At one point, I was able to snake through the trucks to get closer to the dock but there was nowhere to park. I was afraid I would get blocked in. As I was leaving, another truck came. I got out just in time before I would have been stuck on the lot without being able to exit for who knows how long. I left and, in addition to filling out an online cancellation form, I emailed the manager with a request to cancel the rental and get a refund because I could not gain access. I received a text saying he couldn't cancel the rental because the lock was on the door (even though the front desk had a key!). I had to make a special trip to take the lock off the door. I'm beyond annoyed! I was counting on this storage. It never occurred to me I wouldn't have access to the unit during access hours.U-Haul International Inc

I recently made a reservation 6 weeks in advance. The night before and quite late before I got a call that my rental was unavailable. The nearest option was 20 miles away, which is wonderful since you pay per mile. My original reservation would have been within 5 miles. ********** to find a truck was painful and the several people I spoke to could not help. I simply got bounced a round to different people. They advertise 24/7 pick up and drop off yet when I asked about that it wasnt really an option. All of this might have been fine if I wasnt given 2.5 hours notice of my issue. There seems to be no reason to make a reservation since it can so easily be ignored.U-Haul International Inc

After a late UBox delivery, I now have to have this box sitting in my driveway for 5 extra days because the truck is broke down. No compensation for my inconvenience. Worst customer service. Made no attempt to help. Was told that is the best they can do. Do not use this company for your moving needs.U-Haul International Inc

1 starWhen we were on our way over to the **************************** ***** uhaul location we called to confirm they had a truck and he said that his computer wasn't working and he couldn't pull up our reservation. He said that he had a 15' truck like we needed and would rent it to us but couldn't pull up the reservation. We then got to the location which was inside a liquor store. The store clerk first told me to go down to the other register where he could help me. He kept jumping away from our transaction to help other customers. His computer was working enough to start the process and upload my license. He kept jumping away and left us waiting. Finally he told us the total and it was $40 more than the original order. I asked if he could please take off the additional coverage and he said that he couldn't. He refused to take off the additional charge. I have rented many uhaul's in the past so I knew to ask. Then he told us to leave. I tried to pay him the full amount including the unnecessary coverage and he refused to rent the truck to us and told us to leave. He then let his large dog out from behind the counter and we got back into our car to make other arrangements which was a huge hassle and out of our way.Review fromReashunda S

1 starI'll never rent from U-Haul again I rented a 20" truck on 9/6/22 and had to return the truck the next day my issue is when I made the reservation no one told me about a extra charge I asked if I could go to ****** but the U-Haul person told me to go to a different location to pick up the truck then when I get to the location the guy was a hour late I had to pay 115 plus a ****** deposit which wasn't mentioned in the reservation everything was handled unprofessional and very misleading I did attempt to reach out to U-Haul a manager tried to offer ***** no I'm not ok with that I did get the ****** back which belong to someone helping out but I didn't get none of my money took off my card which was the ****** I only used 9 miles in the truck gas was put back in the truck so I don't understand why I'm getting the run around I was told one thing when I made the reservation and it end up being anotherReview fromKatherine H

Terrible experience with the ********, ** U-haul rental location on *************. I have reached out many times to discuss the charges they made to my credit card even though I did not approve them doing so. Calls are either unanswered, roll over to the 800 number or not returned as promised. Three different contracts were issued with different information on each one. I would have much preferred to resolve this at the rental facility, but was denied access to information such as photos they said proved damage or missing items. I have talked to representatives from the insurance company that holds the insurance I paid for, their marketing company and multiple managers with no explanation of why the 3 contracts all differ in the number of days the van was rented. I have no option left but to file with the ******* *************************** I also will file with my credit card company to dispute the charges they have continued to add.U-Haul International Inc

On August 11th, I reserved a 26 truck over the phone for a return date of 09/03/22. We confirmed at pick up that our return date was 09/03/22. On 09/02/22, we were unpacking the truck. At 11:14am, I got a text that said ******** here with Uhaul. Your reservation is past due. Could you give me a call to let me know when you will be returning as other customers are waiting for the equipment. I was alarmed, so I immediately called the number. I spoke with ******** and told her that our reservation is supposed to be for tomorrow. She said that it was actually for 9am that day and saw no notes saying otherwise, and now another family is out of a truck and she doesnt know what shes going to do. I told her we would do our very best to get the truck unloaded and get it back as soon as possible. Around 4:40pm I got a text saying Hello ***** ******* from Concord Uhaul messaging about your late return. Please call with an ETA, we have a reservation on this truck 9/3 @ 9am. I called, and spoke with *******, who told me we will have a late fee assigned at drop off. I explained the situation, and she basically said none of that matters, well be charged a late fee regardless. I asked to speak to a manager, and was transferred to *** at the regional office for NH. *** is the rudest, most unprofessional person I have ever spoken with. He needs immediate training in customer service. I dont even remember a lot of the conversation because he was raising his voice and arguing back and forth with me. I do remember that I said we asked for a return date of 9/3, how is it my fault that **** made this mistake? and he kept saying ITS NOT MY FAULT! I DIDNT DO ANYTHING! I was so upset, I was literally shaking. It says when you call Uhaul that the calls are recorded, I ask that someone from Uhaul PLEASE go back and listen to the recording.U-Haul International Inc
