In November of 2023 I went to my unit and found it infested with mice, including their f**** and urine. My bed had been eaten from the inside out and there was rat urine over my bedding, inside my clothes and on the floor in piles around the unit. It smelled like death and the total damage to my items drew me to tears and utter disbelief. I struggled to breathe even a few feet away from it.I contacted the company and am being offered roughly $6,000 for about $15,000 worth of damage. I have been told that if I take the offer EVERYTHING in the unit will be taken as well, even items they declared invaluable/ worth nothing. I am tempted to just go and take what I want from my unit but I may have a seizure due to my disorder. I have explained this to them and even commented that the ***************** would need to assist me with retrieving my items sine I may not be able to risk the medical damage to my brain. Still the offer remains the same. I am asking for a measly $10,000 to replace my passport, birth certificate, bed, couch, clothes, computers, souvenirs from Asia, household trinkets and supplies, pillows, blankets and more. I have pictures for proof of the damage and displacement of my items, if needed. I want to end this ASAP and what Im being offered isnt enough. To see how long this has been going on is insane - people who have units next to mine are probably suffering as well. Also, the company is losing money if the units arent able to be rented. Over a year going through this? Thats more of a loss than what Im asking! I simply want to repurchase what Ive lost. The person above the manager is rude and uncaring. She ignored me as if I was being offered tons of money for the damage. That kind of character is unacceptable in a situation where the location is infested with rats and renters suffer. The last time I went to see my unit, I felt awful, couldnt drive. If I die going back to that unit, Im giving my family instructions.U-Haul International Inc

No one from management has contacted me since your message. I have been charged ANOTHER late fee as Ive been waiting to hear from them based on this message. According to the Uhaul admin at this location, my account has a lien or will have a lien and $50 fee added. I dont know which management you speak of but I HAVE NOT received a response from any management. Who should I be waiting for? ********************Review fromamy h

I rented U-boxes from uhaul. One was leaky and when I asked for an exchange they said they would call me back the next week. I pushed and they agreed to exchange it but informed I would be responsible for moving everything out of the box and into the replacement box. I hired movers. They then charged me for an extra month for going over one day due to the time of moving my stuff. I called 3 times and was told I would get a call back-never did. I called u-haul corporate and they refused to help. DO NOT USE U-HAUL BOXES--USe PODSU-Haul International Inc

I made a reservation at this location, picked it up at 10:38 am returned it around 3pm, well before they closed, I put the gas pass where it was when I got, whole process should have been about 85 dollars. I looked, I had a charge of 114, they claimed I bought it back late, which I bought it back the same day I had it, so I went up there, told I would get a refund for being overcharged. As soon as I leave I get an email, saying I was charged yet again 20w dollars, stating I had the truck for 4 days. They said they would refund me, but I will have to wait 7 days, why should I have to wait for my money, when it shouldn't have even been taken, now my account is overdrawn, because I had other bills to pay, I should have been given a refund in cash, the same day. Make sure to pay with cash app, not an actual bank, they will continue to take money out of your accountU-Haul International Inc

I made a reservation for a hitch install, & paid for everything in advance. My husband and I have very busy schedules, so picking a day that worked for both of us was a struggle, but we decided on 4/11/25 A few days before my appointment, I got a confirmation text reminding me of my appointment on 4/14/25. We were not available that day, so I immediately called the store to find out what happened. They never answered the phone so the call was sent to the corporate call center. I explained what happened, & the person at the call center said they could see in that the change happened at the store. They sent a message for the store manager **** to contact me asap. **** called me about an hour later & said they didnt want to overwhelm the new guy, so they rescheduled me. I told him Im not available that day, but he could refund me the money I paid for labor, give me my parts, & Id have it installed elsewhere. Instead he said he switched the schedule around and would be honoring my original appointment.On 4/11/25, when we got to the store the kid helping me was new, so he had to call **** to ask what to do & how to find my reservation. I left my keys with ********* husband took me to work.9 hours later a coworker dropped me off at U-Haul. I walked inside, told them I was picking up my vehicle, & was told they didnt know anything about an install taking place today. The employee walked out to my vehicle, got down on the ground to look underneath, & saw that no work had been done. We walked inside so he could reach out to the store manager **** to see what was going on. **** told him he didnt know anything about it, offered no help or assistance, & hung up. The employee helping me then reached out to Erics boss to try and figure out how to process a refund for the labor. Turns out they are not able to do that, so instead they refunded me for ************** then had to pay for the hitch again so I can have it installed elsewhere. I ordered a truck in person on ************. I was told to pick it up after hours using an internet application. The application did not work I called twice 2 different agent they could nor help me. U-Haul should pay penalties for defected mobile application which did not work. They have no right to use defected programs and give clients misleading information. The company should be bankrupt. Total incompetence. Luck of and life agent , who can solve a problem. I see they write apology to clients. I do not care about verbal apology. This company should be responsible financially for client's frustration, inconvenience and financial loses .Total scandal. Scam. They do not even deserve zero stars.U-Haul International Inc

Moving from one state to another is definitely one of the most difficult experiences a family can go through. And on top of that, you get the worst piece of equipment imaginable from U-Haul. They knew a month in advance that the trip was from ** to *******, so how is it possible that for a trip of more than 16 hours on an express route, U-Haul gave me a truck that measures the mileage, and if you go over the mileage limit, it uses double the gas mileage. How can this be true? That type of truck is for local moves, not long-distance moves. But it doesn't end there; the truck's oil light came on. How is it possible they wanted to damage the truck so they could charge us for it later? Moving with U-Haul was definitely the most horrible experience my family and I have ever had. In short, we spent double the gas for the type of truck they gave us. We were supposed to spend between $350 and $400 on gas, but we ended up spending $780. They're abusive. I've complained several times, and as always, they say the claim was rejected. All I know is that I don't recommend anyone move with this company. I feel disappointed and ripped off. Horrible service, the worst I've ever experienced. Now I suffer from stress and anxiety after that horrible experience. My advice: don't move with U-Haul!U-Haul International Inc

U-Haul of ******, *************************************** - If I could, Id give zero stars. The customer service is awful! I reserved a one-way U-Haul truck 2-3 weeks in advance for my move. I was told ** get a call the day before to confirm everything, but that call never came. So, I decided to go to the store in person, only to be told they had no trucks and that my reservation was moved to another location 10 minutes down the street. I go to the new location, and they dont have any trucks either. Apparently, this was the second time that week they had moved a reservation to this location, and they had no trucks available. I was then told the closest truck was an hour away in the opposite direction from ******, and theyd give me mileage to go pick it up myself. Why should I be the one inconvenienced because of their mistake? When I asked if anyone could pick it up for me, they said no. So now, Im stuck with the inconvenience, while they dont seem to care at all. They laughed in my face, showed no urgency to help, and eventually just ignored me. The manager and the lady from the regional office even raised their voices at me over the phone. They offered me 100 miles to go get the truck. How is that supposed to help me? I shouldnt have to go out of my way to fix something they had weeks to sort out. Its incredibly disappointing. The workers there, including ***** ******* and ******** (if thats even her real name), clearly need serious improvement in customer service. If helping customers is a problem for them, they should really reconsider their line of work. No one told them to make U-Haul their day job. They turned what was supposed to be a smooth move into a complete nightmare. Never again! At the rate theyre going, theyre going to lose a lot of customers. Seriously.U-Haul International Inc

I had an extremely frustrating experience at U-Haul (****************************************) due to rude staff, false damage accusations, and unethical business practices. When I walked in, the staff was dismissive and unprofessional, rudely telling me to "use the app" instead of assisting me properly. They also pressured me into buying insurance, using intimidation tactics rather than respecting my decision.Before taking the van, my wife and I checked for damage and noticed minor chips on the windshield. When I returned it, a staff member immediately claimed there was new damage, even though it was pre-existing. Despite explaining this, the manager was aggressive, refused to listen, and completely dismissed my concerns. Shockingly, another staff member even admitted that the chips were old, but said they couldnt help because it was the managers decision. Instead of following a fair process, I was forced to pay $434 on the spot, without any opportunity to dispute the charge.When my wife attempted to dispute it, the staff threatened us, saying we would lose a $200 discount if we proceeded. To make matters worse, one staff member made a racist remark, saying: "What's going on with this store? These Indian people." This level of discrimination and unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Despite multiple calls to U-Haul customer service, the staff deliberately made it difficult for us to file a dispute, refusing to close the contract until we paid.This U-Haul location operates unfairly, forcing customers to pay for pre-existing damage, refusing to provide evidence, and treating people with hostility and discrimination. If youre considering renting from here, think twiceyou may end up dealing with false accusations, terrible service, and unnecessary stress. Avoid this location at all costs.U-Haul International Inc

Very very frustrated with Uhaul. I booked almost a month in advance for a 10 ft truck and trailer as im traveling across country. The day before im supposed to move I get a message from them stating im getting a 26 ft truck and tow for my car and I can pick in up on the 31st not 30th. Extremely frustrating as I had plans to leave early on the 31st and now i wont be able to leave until the morning of the 1st and i dont feel comfortable driving a trailer that large as well as gas is going to be more expensive. Terrible service and very unprofessional. Especially when you guys are getting a good chunk of money from meU-Haul International Inc

When you made the reservation on 7 Mar, you were advised "A local U-Haul representative will call you before 5pm on 3/29/2025 to get your agreement on and schedule available location, time, and equipment.". On 15 Mar, you were sent an additional advisory about the availability "Dear customer, you are receiving this notification in regards your upcoming U-Haul reservation. The piece of equipment from you requested is currently in high demand in your area, to be able to confirm and schedule your appointment, U-Haul will call you 1-2 days prior your moving date to confirm availability and schedule your appointment. Please be aware that the piece of equipment you have requested is not guaranteed at the moment. For questions or concerns, give us a call back at ************. Thank you". Ultimately, the truck provided was larger than you wanted, but smaller than the 26 ft truck and a discount was also provided because of the change. Worst company ever, people from customer service don't care about you, dropped off the truck and I said to the agent at the drop off location "I am ready for check out" he said, I will do it for you, I thought it was strange but I said ok. Usually we do it using our phone so we have pics of everything and the miles, well 2 weeks later I have a charge of $80 from ***** saying I drove extra miles.
