1 starSixt car rental from *******, ** - ***********, has several complaints about damage to their vehicles. After renting a car they claim that I had made damages to the rims of the car. There arent any sidewalks in *******, **. I stayed at a hotel that had only pull in spots and at my sisters house which has a driveway. As soon as I pulled into the car rental place, the service person immediately accused me of the damage, almost like they knew right where it was. Now they are attempting to extort $858.00 for one rim that was scratched. When I read some of the reviews, I saw that several customers had the exact same experience. I remember my service agreement had a list of damages, however, I was told that they couldnt print them out because they are paperless. Sixt, car rental seems to have a practice of extorting money from their customers, so buyers beware !!Review fromMason S

1 starI worked for this company for 11 months. I was verbally abused the entire time. I was shorted pay, never payed OT, had false accusations against me, and was discriminated and taken advantage of because i was only 18 years old. My supervisor was arrested at work for assaulting a customer and was also arrested for a dui.Review fromPatrick G

1 starI purchased full coverage insurance for my rental vehicle. SIXT Rental Insurer refused to pay my Florida PIP benefits. I will be pursuing this further with the DFS.
The Broadspire Insurance adjuster is Gerald Wiegler and his supervisor is Randy Becotte in the Tampa office.
Please do not use SIXT Rental Car. It took them nearly two months to release the insurance information to me...Review fromarkisha f

1 starI recently rented a car from Sixt who i did not prefer to rent from, however suppliers choice assigned me the company. I was very hesitant to rent from Sixt at the suppliers suggestion, based on the poor reviews that I had previously researched. Sixt held a $200 deposit on my American Express credit card on 10/25. They released the deposit on 10/30 and on the same day they sent me a separate email stating claims damage. Furthermore, during pick up the Sixt representative was constantly trying to shove toll passes down my throat even after I told him i would only be traveling on the I10 which does not require toll fees. I also had a reservation for a uhaul that I drove the majority of my stay in Houston. For the most part ,the car had been parked as I had to move large furniture that wouldn't fit in a smaller vehicle. In addition I've had a handicap plaque card for the past four years which allows more space when parking. Furthermore i have a clean driving record of over 35 years. Getting to the meat and potatoes. I arrived to IAH a little after 4pm to depart on my 5:30pm flight. Sixt did not email me until over 13 hours after I dropped off the rental car that there was damage to the rim. Damage should have been evident sooner than 12 hours later. When i called to speak to a claims representative, she adamantly stated "If I don't provide pictures I don't have a case". Luckily I took pictures of the vehicle at drop off since I had a similar experience at this same airport with Hertz car rental earlier this year when they attempted to charge me $300 claiming I did not return the fob and that was later reversed upon them discovering it was their own employees fault that the fob had been misplaced. Sixt rental car is demanding I pay $601 within one week to satisfy this false claim.Review fromWade L

1 starI was charged $400 smoking fee which I disagree with. I didn't find out until after my card was charged. I think its sneaky and underhanded. I will NEVER rent from you again and rest assured I WILL tell anyone who will listen (friends, family, strangers, Facebook, Instagram all available media platforms) about your policies because this is something that could have been discussed when I returned the car. Instead, I can't refute the claim because I don't live in the Newark NJ area. It's just a bad look on your part. How do I know the integrity of the person or persons who made this decision? It sounds like a cash grab when you're blindsided after the fact.Review fromMarcielle P

1 starExperience was Horrible.. I was set up with Sixt through an Expedia package deal ( that was paid for months in advance) and my flight from Vegas to Philadelphia unfortunately had a layover in Atlanta that went from 1 hour to 4 hours. I immediately tried to reach out to Sixt to let them know I would be running late and to not give my car away or to find out how to pick it up, should it be after hours. Instead what I got was only an automated system that I could not bypass to speak to a human, no chat or customer service capabilities. Instead, upon research I found out that I have to give them a 6 hour notice to cancel for a refund. Of course I was under that time frame! In addition, I was hoping still that they would be like most airport car rental agencies and open until midnight or 24 hours. But no!!!! They were located 1.5 miles outside Philadelphia and they closed at 9:30 (supposedly) and their last shuttle from the airport was 8:30. ***!! LIKE even if the flight had been able to leave Atlanta earlier - by the time we all got to our luggage and to the shuttle location- the odds are we still wouldn't have made it!! So of course I had to rent another car through Enterprise last minute and thank God for them ( but now down another $325- which was an expense I hoped to be able to recoup from Sixt once back home). Got home reached out to Expedia whom reached out to Sixt (72 hours for response) and 72 hours later got an email saying they would not refund my money as to i did not adhere to their cancellation policy. This is b.s I made more than an effort to reach out to them to actually try to find a way to get that car or cancel and nothing. Why have a time framed rental at an airport. God knows there are always flight cancelations and or extended layovers. Do not rent from Sixt and if getting a package deal with Expedia have then change this part immediately. If only I could have known or accounted for life's happenings or Sixt!!Review fromRobert C.

2 starsLat week we rented two cars in ****** *****. One car we wanted GPS in so they put ** into an AUDI when I reserved an SUV, The Audi was smaller than the suv I reserved with a GPS that did not work and charged us $300.00 more than the quote. My SUV had a GPS after the agent said it did not. When we returned the car and told the agent said nothing they could do. All they wanted to do was upgrade you for nothing,Review fromJamie D

1 starMy recent experience with Sixt car rental near the Denver
Airport was nothing short of a disaster. I had reserved a car type
online, only to find myself trapped in a situation that left me feeling
coerced and taken advantage of.
Upon my arrival at the rental office, I was shocked to learn that the
car type I had reserved was not available. Instead of offering a
reasonable solution, the Sixt representative tried to upsell me to a
different vehicle at an exorbitant cost of over $75 per day. This
outrageous attempt to squeeze more money out of customers left a bitter
taste in my mouth from the very beginning.
When I expressed my inability to afford the upsell, I was presented with
a Hobson's choice - a small, unsafe Nissan Versa as the only
alternative. It was as if I had been backed into a corner, with no other
options available. The feeling of being stranded and helpless,
especially as a woman, is not something any customer should experience.
There were no other car rental companies onsite. This is a stand-alone
building next to a busy road.
Reluctantly, I decided to accept the upsell, but only after the Sixt
representative lowered the price to an additional $25 per day. This
experience highlighted their lack of transparency and fair business
practices. It was evident that they were more interested in maximizing
their profits than providing their customers with a positive experience.
To make matters worse, the car I received was not in the best condition.
It was apparent that Sixt did not prioritize cleanliness. The interior
of the vehicle was subpar, with a thick film on the inside of the
windows that gave the impression it had never been properly cleaned.Review fromBrandi B

1 starI rented from Sixt at *********** airport for a single day rental, as I was only in town from 8pm until 6pm the following day. The car had definitely been smoked in, and the smell continually circulated through the car. However, the worst part is that I returned it to Terminal 2 at 4:30pm and put my keys in the drop box before going to the terminal to catch my 6pm flight last night -- but today, I received my final receipt from Sixt and they stated that I returned the car at 10:47 this morning, a full 18 hours after I returned it, and a full 11 hours after I returned home 3 states away. Consequently, they charged me for an additional day as well, bringing my charges to double what they should have been. I have reached out to Sixt to get my refund and correct the issue with no response. Will not use their service again.Review fromSophea D

1 star10/16/23 Its with deep regret that I did not read the reviews about Sixt car rental company prior to my rental with them. This company without a doubt is a scam on so many different levels. They accused me of sustaining damages to the vehicle which was a false claim. They said they found scratches on the vehicle after I returned it and made me pay $487 for the damage. They also charged me extra for roadside assistance and for gas because they said it was only 7/8 tank full when I turned it in which is a lie; I filled the tank up with the gas gauge indicator above F. How is it that they are still operating as a legal business? Please DO NOT rent from them. *** warned all my family and friends about this company and the scam they are running on people times and times again.
