1 starI rented a car on 8.19.2023 and was set to return on 8.25.2023-on 8.24.2023 our back rear tire starting going flat-we popped the trunk found no spare and no device to air the tire up-in a very rural area of Oregon-2.5 hours away from where we rented the car, contacted customer service and roadside assistance, took the car to tire shop on 8.25 and was told no way to get a "run flat" tire for at least 3 days.. Was told by Sixt to leave at the repair shop with keys....they decided not to get the car for 3 days and charged me for it! The end result was me being charged an additional 522.63 on top of what I paid up front for the rental! I will never make this mistake againReview fromReginald W

1 starSixt in the ******************** is the worst place I have ever been to. I had my reservation and got to the desk and was told my credit card didn't match. So we switched it to my other credit card and was told that my license wouldn't scan. I have a federal license on top of it being a commercial drivers license. I was told that the third party place would have to reimburse me. That was about the third or fourth lie. Called and was told sixt only handled things from there. **** back and asked for a manager and he proceeded to lie right away saying my card didn't match. The other assistant had to show him the screen I guess with it showing my license wouldn't scan. He told me he put in a request to get my money back. I call the very next day and they said that he noted that I had a fake credit card. So now they are trying to keep my real money that they say was a fake credit card. I was never told that was the reason until I called for my refund. I see now how many complaints that this place has. I would have never expected a rental car place to have this many complaints. Mine was pure discrimination to the fullest. Please return my money to my card. We already have enough problems with high fuel and food prices. We don't need outside entities taking our money also. 1 starWe rented a car for a College visit last week. We booked through Expedia for $376.15. We had it late Monday night and returned it around 9pm Friday evening. We returned it sooner then planned. There was a stain on the driver seat that was already there and pictures were taken.I got my receipt and they charged me an extra $447.37 for cleaning the stain. They also accused us of smoking in the car. We're not smokers so that is false. They will not return our calls or give us any evidence that we smoked. This is total crap! Will never ever use them again! A pleasant trip ended up costing us more then intended.Review fromMarie M

1 star****************** They charge you $15/day for an additional driver, if you request a "Fast Pass" they charge you an additional $5/toll for their admirative fee and attempt to charge you for scratches that were already on the car. The real kicker is when I asked for an itemized invoice, they incorrectly applied the down-payment from Expedia. Sixt shorted me $140.00. Do NOT waste your time with this company!Review fromDavid L

1 starOn August 27, 2023, My wife and I were driving from ***************** to ************* to return our rental car and fly back to *****************. While traveling southbound on A27, we sustained a flat tire on our rear passenger side. I immediately pulled over to a rest station where I identified the leak. I attempted to insert air into the tire but the leak was too significant and the tire would not hold any air. My wife and I then made multiple calls to SIXT without any help. This included calls to SIXT ***** train station (where we picked up the car), SIXT *** (where we were returning the car), and dozens of attempts to SIXT roadside assistance *****, where we never reached an agent or received a call back. We tried for over an hour while stranded on the side of the highway. At risk of missing our flight back home, we limped our car to ************, which was 20 minutes and 16 km away. Luckily, an agent there was very kind and quickly gave us a new car to drive to ***.However, the "roadside assistance" service at SIXT was horrendous and nonexistent. SIXT's support during this ordeal was atrocious. Even when we were able to reach an actual representative, we were just told to call the roadside assistance number. We were essentially left stranded in a foreign country with a flat tire, no spare wheel, and no help from SIXT.Review fromChris T

1 starIf I could give 0 stars I would. 4 quick reasons:1. **** and unprofessional counter clerks 2. Shady business practices 3. They rented me a car that was overdue for maintenance and therefore unsafe 4. Their customer support is non-existentits via email and no way to speak with someone. Many things were unsatisfactory with renting a car from Sixt. It began with a rude intake person at the ********* location, where I picked the car up. I had booked and prepaid for the reservation with a debit card and she told me I couldnt use that card for the security deposit and final bill. She claimed to initiate a refund of the prepaid amount. She did not. After spending a longer than normal time getting the vehicle (I ended up also upgrading) I was finally on my way. During my rental, a message appeared on the dashboard informing that it was critically low on oil. I noticed the sticker on the windshield showing the car was over a month and ***** miles overdue for service. I was in the middle of the desert in *******! Once I was able to find a gas station that was open, I put oil in the car. Upon returning the vehicle I told the intake person about my trouble and she was apologetic but said she could not do anything since I picked the car up at a different location. She assured me someone from the LV branch would call menever happened. After getting the runaround for about a week, from their customer service team, I did receive an email telling me the branch did not approve any compensation for my trouble, that I signed the agreement and that was it. Comically, they offered me a $200 voucher for a future rental. Haha! No thank you. So they charged me twice for an unsafe vehicle and wasted more of my time than I can remember for what should be a very simple transaction. Throw rude people and non-existent customer support in and you have yourself the worst rental car company in the world!Review fromAudrey I

1 starThe pickup process of the car was very predatory. The agent kept trying to add the $200 insurance to my 3 day rental. I kept denying the insurance and he still added it. I had to pull my card out of the machine and refuse to pay the taxes until he removed it.After one day, I realized that the car had been smoked in. My son has asthma and we ended up returning the vehicle early. The staff at the desk grabbed the keys and rushed me out of the door. He said there was nothing left to do and just grabbed the keys. The very next day I get an email stating that I damaged one of the tires. I barely drove the car and DID NOT damage it. There were not images attached to the claim. A quick ****** search showed that there are multiple false claims of damage and a class action lawsuit against Sixt. DO NOT rent from them. It is not worth the cheap price.Review fromMaryam R

1 starI rented a car for my vacation in ***** via Cheap Flight website and they recommended Sixt Rent a car and I paid for the service, when I went to ****** to pick up my car, they mentioned several errors which I believe it was Cheap Flight's fault and tried to solve it with their agent which I believed it was solved based on the agents assurance, I paid $1388.88 for 11 days through Cheap Flight for my car and insurance which I checked and was the price on their website as well, agent asked me to provide my credit card for $200 security deposit and will be reimbursed after I return the car, a few days later, Sixt charged me additional $2200 , when I called them they said I never paid for my car and I emailed them all my receipt and bank statements to prove I already paid for it, after several calls and emails and going through h*** on my vacation, they reimbursed the charge but a few days later they charged me again for additional $1780 and now i am fighting to get it back, both Cheap flight and Sixt rent a car are scams and fraud, they approach you bad and then you are screwed specially when you are on vacation, I tried several times to solve the issue with both company but no luck and they blame other party.DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE TWO COMPANIES EVER
