1 starWe also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision about his gawd-awful company but so far, nothing has been resolved. Unfortunately, we had not seen others' reviews of SixT and did not think to take before and after pictures of the truck's condition to prove we handled the rental with care. We booked our rental at the Tampa Airport. Me (75 year old grandma), adult daughter, and three little ones ages 1, 3 and 5 all in baby seats. The truck was shabby looking but it was late night (for us) when we got to Tampa and we were exhausted from multiple plane rides with babies that day. Drove it to our rental on the beach and a week later drove it back. They claim that all the sideswipes, paint chips, and dents were our doing. Nothing could be further from the truth. They are charging unbelievable fines and penalties, harrassing us, and this has been on-going for five months. They are rude, threatening, and increasingly hostile when my daughter calls or writes to address the problems. This company should be put out of business. PS - they do not deserve even one star but it is as low as available.Review fromJames B

1 starOverall it was a BAD experience renting with SIXT.(1) SIXT "upload your drivers license" web page for checkin app is broken on iOS on Safari, the default browser. It doesn't upload the photo. After a LONG time I figured out a workaround but normal users wouldn't have.(2) After struggling with the above process, the reward I was told I could go straight to my car without waiting in line. But when I arrived the emails said I needed to checkn at the counter and pay. huh?? I had to wait in a super long line when I was tired. And it tells me that all the time I spent with the drivers license upload web bug was wasted time entirely since I still had to go to the booking desk.(3) SIXT website didn't show an obvious phone number I could call about questions or concerns. This seems weird and *********************** Prices and billing is wildly deceptive and misleading. I did the math when I get final bill, I see that outrageously the extra amounts is not government taxes.... but SIXT-specific jacked up unethical looking fees on top of everything else? Added Vehicle License fees? ********************** **************** ***** Vehicle Surcharge? ** Concession Recovery Fee? These seem like scammy additions on the bill!!! SIXT added fees that are *** 68% added fees ON TOP OF the basic rental rate**. Yes you read that right, 68 percent on top of the rental base fee! This seems unethical and not reasonable on top of advertised fare. They should price all that into advertised prices or it seems deceptive and potentially fraudulent. 1 starThis company makes false accusations and will take your money and refuse to refund. The agent at SIXT informed me that a credit card is required for the rental. I told them I wasnt informed that I had to provide a credit card and the funds were already deducted from my debit checking account. So, I attempted to cancel the rental, but SIXT agent informed me I couldnt cancel because the booking was already in process. I was never given the car as originally reserved. 1 starThis company is horrendous. If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. They charged ** for tolls and an administrative fee that we never incurred. In fact we were almost 90 miles away from where they accused ** of traveling. We had Amex receipts and hotel receipts to prove we were never through any tolls. We provided all the proof to Amex and disputed the charge; Amex supported our dispute and we did not have to pay the fees. However, Sixt did not stop harassing me via emails demanding payment. I finally blocked them. Their customer service is non-existent. It is likely intentional that Sixt makes it near impossible to get a hold of a representative. When I finally reached someone to dispute the charge, their response, was "go call the ******* **** of **************** Really? How about investigating the disorganized office in ********* that initially gave ** one car and then "upgraded" ** to another car. Perhaps with these changes, the tolls were incurred on the different car. I don't know what happened at their end, but this was a terrible experience and we will never rent a car from Sixt again. 1 starWalked into the very nice lobby and gave them our confirmation #, drivers license and credit card. The agent explained that we made our reservation under my name but used my wifes credit card for the reservations and that they can not go forward with the rental because the reservation name has to match the credit card name that was used for the reservation. Then explained that they would need to start over with a new reservation, which at this point I thought no problem. Then it was explained that we would need to cancel the current reservation before they could start the walk up reservation. So we tried canceling the original reservation and even with the managers help, could not figure out how to cancel and he told ** that we would need to call the SixT HQ. Meanwhile the manger explains that our walk up reservation will cost $200 more because now this is a walk up reservation and not a pre reservation and they would need to upgrade the car because walk reservations doesnt allow ** to rent the car that we selected. On top of all this we are being told that we would need a $30 per day toll unit (which we found out later we didnt need). At this point I had enough of the run around and ask them to take ** back to the airport so I can regroup with another agency. Which we did successfully with no issues. In the meantime we are still trying to cancel the original reservation with SixT. We had to call the main SixT HQ and they informed ** that it was up to the local SixT branch location to release the $200 deposit. So at this point we are out $214 for just trying to use this new rental car concept. After reading all of the negative reviews after customers got their cars, I believe we were smart to not continue this this sh** show. We are hoping the local branch decides to refund our $200, we will not stop until we do. I will continue to write reviews and spread the news that it is not worth even attempting to rent The Car. 1 starZero stars! I have been emailed a bill for damage from Sixt that I did not cause. We drove from Miami to Orlando and stopped once for gas, gas tank on drivers side. Sixt claims I made a scratch in front, passenger side bumper. This is not true. I declined the insurance upon receiving the car because I got it through Expedia. I suspect, although i have no proof, that declining their coverage flags something in their system to charge for fraudulent damages because the clerk made sure to mention if damaged was incurred I would be responsible to file the claim. The attendant i dropped the car off to took the keys and said good to go. It was almost 4 weeks later sixt emails me a bill for damage i did not cause. Warning to everyone, do not rent from sixt!!!Review fromCody S

1 starAfter looking over the reviews below, I could not agree more with how corrupt this company is.. Absolute scam and if I could ever give anyone any advice, DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THESE RIP OFF ARTIST. I rented a car from Sixt at the Ohare airport. We had the car for all of 2 days, and barley put 30 miles on the car. After returning the car, I received an email from these corrupt turds that I had damaged the car,,, 2 months after it was returned.. There was a 3" scratch on the rear bottom side fender well that could of happened at anytime.. Low and behold they find me responsible for the 3" scratch and tell me its $519 to fix.. 2 months after the fact, these turds finally send me a notice.. I advised them I would like to speak with a manager and they advised they would have one call me.. I have never heard from anyone from management at this crap hole company.. After time has gone on, they just turned me into collections.. This company needs to be investigated by an attorney general and put out of business.. 1 starDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They will try and claim you damaged your vehicle during your visit- and DO NOTHING to make sure the proper documentation for vehicle condition is in place prior to your rental period. Not to mention the agents will try and sell you on things you don't need by trying to scare you, AND their deposit is a surprise attack. I should have insisted that someone walk with me- that was my own mistake. This is what I am sending to the Customer Service email at Sixt. "Hello, As the many online reviews- which I should have checked first- have also reported, I too have become a victim of your company's attempt at collecting a "damage fee" from me, for damage that I am not at fault for. Not only did your sales rep at the LAS Airport try and push every extra fee on me basically by threat of someone backing into my rental car in a parking lot (she made several attempts to scare me into overpriced insurance and asked me questions about my own policy's deductible which is extremely unprofessional), but when given my car- I asked for something besides a BMW (I did not reserve a BMW) and was told "there weren't any other cars left". When I picked up my rental car, the agent at the key both inside the LAS Airport Rental Car Garage barely spoke to me, and did not leave her booth to walk the vehicle with me. I walked it myself, which can be seen on video footage i'm sure, since I am obviously circling the vehicle. After seeing no exterior damage to document by photo or otherwise, I left with my rental. Now I am being asked about a damage that occurred during my trip which is completely false, not to mention the "scratch" is barely visible from the attached photos because of glare etc. When asked to upload photos supporting my statement that this damage did NOT occur during my rental period, I have nothing to upload as there was no damage....After dropping the car off, no one walked with me then either. 1 starThis is an absolute NIGHTMARE company to work with. Our family of 7 reserved & paid for a minivan to accommodate our large family 2 weeks in advance of our trip to **. Got to the airport at 10:30 pm and told it would be a short wait for the vehicle to be brought to us- we were directed to wait in a parking garage... we waited, with our 5 CHILDREN until 2:45 am!! After asking the attendant to provide us with a status update, we got, "it won't be much longer." Ultimately, they offered us a 5 person car with a broken double-seat, stuck in the folded position, making it a 3 person car. We said that this was unacceptable- we reserved & PAID for 7-person van & had waited MORE THAN 4 HOURS for it to be "brought up". My husband pointed to a minivan that'd been parked in front & said, "what about that one? Can we take that one?" We were told, "No, you don't want that one." At this point, my husband said, "We want any vehicle that will fit 7 people & get us to our hotel... it's almost 3:00 am!!!" After about 20 min, the supervisor arrived & we explained the situation. She took us to the minivan that my husband had asked the attendant about. She said, "Here, you can take this one. Just know that there is a large crack in the front window and some damage on the front bumper. You can use it tonight and we'll deliver a different vehicle tomorrow & reimburse you for the inconvenience." There was no inspection (other than the issues she told us about), no paperwork, no sales slip, no mileage verification, the car was not cleaned from the previous renter, NOTHING. We never received a replacement vehicle during our 9-day stay in **. Not only did they not reimburse us, but we got a surprise charge of $270 a month later (no invoice or communication other than the charge in my bank account)!! When I called to inquire about it, I was told they had no record of the charge. I requested an invoice & was told that they emailed it. I never received it & still have yet to see the money back.
