1 starPLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!! I made my reservation a week in advance for a Toyota Camry (4/27/23). When I arrived at Chicago O'Hare airport (5/5/23), I was told there was no Camry's available. They also tried to "up sell" me on numerous things which I declined, and in return they put me in a TOTALLY UNSAFE Nissan Kicks vehicle. The vehicle has a laundry list of issues AND there are numerous complaints (from customers before me) about the specific vehicle ON RECORD. With all of the documented issues they still put me in that unsafe vehicle. I have confirmed with 3 customer service reps of the documented issues of this vehicle. I have called Roadside every single day 5/5/23 at 2:24p (an hour after getting the rental), 5/6/23 10:52p, and this morning 5/7/23 at 8a about this rental. All in all, again please do not rent from Sixt. If you do not purchase what they are trying to "up sell" you on, they will literally put your life in danger with an unsafe vehicle rental.Review fromLeanna C

1 starWe arrived at the DFW Sixt to get our car only to be refused due to a small tear in the edge of my colleague' driver' licene! After multiple phone calls they wer unable to allow him to be a driver of the car simply due to this small insignificant flaw in the edge of his license. Very bad service.Review fromAlex J

1 starABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE COMPANY! I went to pick up a car, and got there 45min early. I did NOT need the car early just showed up early. The man at the register insists that because he SAW my face that regardless of if I wait 15-20min or not he would charge me for early pick up... Overall terrible company you will get charged with an insane amount of random fees. The car I booked wasn't on the lot so I had to pay MORE for a luxury car even though I did not want one. I could go on and on. If you are looking to save $100 by booking SIXT instead of **** or ***** don't save yourself the headache and trouble. I still have random fees trickling in my email about price adjustments. You will end up paying way more than what you thought you would save.Review fromNancy P

1 starAbsolutely horrible. Do NOT rent cars from Sixt. I booked travel thru the Defense Travel System and my car rental was supposed to be $443 for a week, which I already thought was high. When I arrived on 14 April 2023 to get my car from the ***********, they said I didn't have a reservation so they tried to charge me $1300 as a "walk up" I told them the government would not pay that much money so they ended up charging me $694. Still too much money but I needed the rental. I turned in the car on 21 Apr 2023 and have been waiting for my final voucher. I emailed on 21 Apr, emailed again on 25 Apr, called on 28 Apr, emailed on 29 Apr and 30 Apr. On 1 May, I finally received an invoice saying they charged my credit card $2615, and they said I turned in the car on 1 May. I immediately called to complain and rectify the final bill; and they said the original invoice showed I was supposed to return the car on 20 Apr instead of 21 April. From the very beginning, nothing but problems. I will never rent from Sixt again and I try and have this company removed from the government listing. I have been in the Army 30 years and rented many cars throughout the years and never had problems like this before.Review fromKevin H

1 starSixt is forcing you to pay for their existing car damage. Steer clear from this company.I have rented their car at the ********* Airport Branch. I opened the email by the car and checked existing minor damages that stated on the email. There were 7-8 marks and I found all of those minor damage except 1 was saying there is a chip on the Windshield at the driver's side. I checked very carefully but couldn't see it. It was evening but I still checked it with the flashlight of my phone and clearly there was no chip. I assume they fixed it and forgot to clear their note. Later that day, in broad daylight, when we were driving, my friend on the passenger side realized there was a chip on the PASSENGER side. I took a picture but still didn't worry since they had a chip on the windshield. I assumed, instead of the passenger side, they stated driver side by mistake. When I returned the car about a week later, I explained this to the lady where I dropped the car and said should I inform the office? She said it's an express drop off. Office will take care of that no worry and she told me that I can leave since the office knows what it is. I received an email about damage later. I explained everything clearly and sent them pictures I took later that day. I also told them you have windshield chips stated on the damage list. It wasn't on the driver side but the passenger side. They said they will review it. Guess what, they fixed that damage and sent me over a $700 repair bill. I didn't pay and they kept sending me an invoice and forcing me to pay it. Do yourself a good thing and stay away from this scam company.Review fromLolita W

1 starI booked through SIXT.com, a rental that was to be picked up in Offenburg, Germany - the women at the rental counter in Offenburg refused my Utah DL and insisted that I could only rent cars if I produced a German DL or an international DL whatever that latter thing is. In the end, I had to leave in torrential rain without a car, being stranded in the middle of nowhere in Europe with no means of transportation. I should have been told about the DL requirements when I made the reservation online through sixt.com, a US rental car site for US customers. Nowhere on that site or in the reservation confirmation was I told that I had to have a Germany DL. Had I known this, I would have not reserved a car with SIXT. When I was left in the rain (literally), I tried to get help at the customer helpline. I talked to the least helpful agent ever. She insisted that I should have known that I needed a German DL at a German car rental place but she could not explain to me based on what information I should have known that. Again, it was not in my reservation confirmation email. If not having a German DL is against SIXT's rental policies in Germany, then their website should have refused to give me a reservation in the first place. SIXT shouldn't be in business making rental contracts to US customers if they end up getting denied the rental for having US DLs.Review fromAriful I

1 starThey offer great deals online just to get you to come to them. And if you booked something cheap to save money, your in luck, they dont have any cheap cars, only luxury cars, and will charge you double for it. I booked a ****** versa, and paid in full, was told they dont have it, and my only option was to get a *** X3 or they can refund my money. What the ** Yes, I could of got my money back, then I would have to Uber to another rental company, not sure if I would find a economy car there, and my 6 months pregnant wife was waiting at the airport over an hour with my two toddlers, they took advantage of me and I was forced into no option but to rent from them. Please dont rent from them, unless you have a lot of money and want to rent a luxury vehicle. It was my fault, that I didnt read reviews b4 booking with them. My original booking was 367, and I ended up paying 752. Also, they were insisting I get their ezpass, I said I had my own, they said I cannot use it and I would have to pay cash tolls or use toll free routes. They said it was only $21 per day. I took the risk and still used my own expass, all the tolls were getting paid just fine. Also, I used my own insurance, if not, I would of had to pay even more. Also had to put in premium gas. Totally not happy with this experience. Im going to report them to my ************************ too. They have over **** complains in the past 3 years. Not sure why no one is taking any legal action. Shut this company down or make them pay back all the people they have scammed over the years.Review fromDANIEL L

1 starI asked for a quote for a one way rental to ***********, ** AirPort three(3) times, then I had to pulled it up on my phone before The Agent finally asked The manager if they had a station in *********** and she confirmed their was. I asked again for a quote, and was told we don't have any cars. I said ok what do you have? I was told we are booked up at the moment and the only way would be if I had a reservation. I said ok, can you tell me how much and what cars can I pick from with my reservation . the agent said sir we are very busy and for me to check with another car service company. I asked well just process my reservation and the agent said sir can you step aside. I yelled at him , "asking him to process my reservation". The manager then came over and said I don't care what he said and or done I cant yell at her employees and told me I need to leave or I will call the police. I said, "I will leave after you give me a receipt stating my reservation was canceled or you process my reservation". She then threatened me again, by saying if I don't leave she will call the police. I said, "call them". she calls the police and tells them I am being outrageous, belligerent(never cursed),and that she asked me to leave and I refused to. she continued to state to the police that I was being very aggressive (never touched her employee or moved towards her employee)to her employee, and cursing. I said soon as I get my paperwork I will leave. police show up asking what's going on, I explain to the officer what was going on and he ask them to give me a receipt stating the reservation was canceled so he I can leave and the manager said we don't give out receipts, we are a paperless company. Granted, I never agreed to give my email, nor agreed to their terms of service. the manager finally hand write a receipt and signed it . upon receiving my receipt I left with out incident. DATE OF INCIDENT 4/6/23, NEVER AGAIN WILL I DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!--Review fromNneka E

1 starI booked a vehicle through Expedia and paid, I flew into ************** and went to pickup the vehicle. I had to place a credit card on file and not only was a hold placed on my credit card but I was charged again. I am now disputing the extra charge even after i contacted ****; they claimed that they did not see the charge from expedia.
