What a lousy experience.I requested a ****** RAV4 online for same-day pickup at **********-******* *********************. This was a last-minute travel emergency during Thanksgiving week. The initial charge for this multi-day rental was around $619. Sixt charged my card, which is important to remember because it suggested everything was settled before I arrived in ********I arrived at the counter in ********** at around 9 pm with my entire family in ***. Thats when the **** staff informed me they dont generally accommodate same-day reservations. This wouldve been nice to know back when Sixt *took my money* for a same-day reservation. They also said they didn't even have a ****** RAV4 in stock. Again, this information wouldve been helpful during the booking process. The very cheerful woman at the counter said she would have to call her manager to see what she could do. She returned after disappearing for a bit and said she could accommodate us, butah!wouldnt you know it? The only available model is significantly more expensive than what I had initially reserved. What are the odds?Between the shameless upsell and random additional fees that were not clearly included in the original bill (an $85 AP Concession Recovery Fee? Really?), what was originally a $619 rental ballooned into $974. I shouldve stuck with Enterprise. Their process involves about 95% less snake oil.I took a ****** to save about $100 and ended up losing roughly three times that amount.Happy Thanksgiving, indeed.

SCAM SCAM SCAM.. Just like every other review here states. They do not hold the reservation of the car you booked. Instead they try to push another car on you, if you arrive late in the night. Guess what... This is one the scams that everyone over here are highlighting. They will give you a car which is pre-scratched and blame it on you for an exorbitant amount. When you call the claims department they will not share the pre photos, they will only share the post photos. They will invalidate any other picture you might have. I rented a mid-size SUV and they didnt have it at the in-person center , even though I got an email saying the car was available. A day later the car has starting issues and I return it back and take another car. Just one day I had the car from airport to hotel and back to airport. One week goes and I get an email that they found a scratch and it is 700$ to fix it (this is a <3 inches scratch which normally goes for 100$). Not only did I not do the scratch, since it was mostly in the parking lot, they will charge you an exorbitant amount to scam you! You can them, they dont answer. You send them pictures and they ignore it. They dont deserve to be in business. Watch out they're a scam!!

We had received an email two days after dropping off the rental at their SeaTac location, claiming that we had damaged the vehicle. The email claimed that we had damaged the Wing / Fender, front Passenger side scratch > 10 cm (down to primer). This presented a number of red flags; i.) both my wife and I inspected the vehicle after dropoff and noticed no damage to the vehicle (i.e., we would have readily noticed a scratch greater than 10cm), ii.) why didn't the attendant bring this to our attention, of what would have been obvious damage to the vehicle, at checkout?, iii.) during the rental period we were in no accident and purposely parked the vehicle away from any other vehicle. We replied with iii.) to their online form explaining the discrepancy of condition. We thought the matter had been settled but then received a subsequent email a month and a half later stating that we needed to pay $469.38 in repair costs for the damage. After reading dozens of other one-star reviews, this seems to be the modus operandi of this particular rental car location, as I've rented from SIXT before with no false claims. However after experiencing this fraudulent scheme I will no longer rent from SIXT anywhere.

Sounds like we are having similar issues to those before us. We rented a car in ***************. I checked for damages before and after the rental. There were no damages. Then I got the email stating there was a scratch and I was liable. I filled out their questionnaire on the damage and explained that there was no damage when I left the car. I checked out with an attendant and she said there were no damages. Then I get an email with the bill for damage repair they say I need to pay. I did not cause damage.

Insurance Fraud and Scammers.Booked a rental car from *************** to be picked up at the Sixt Rental Car location at **************, ** on 17 November and drop off on 06 December 2024 at the same location and the rental car insurance was also purchased via *********** as it was paired with the vehicle i was booking. On the day of pick up at the Sixt Rental Car location, i was advised by two attendants that the Sixt Rental Car location does not/not honor the rental car insurance that I acquired from the Travelocity and I needed to purchase a new insurance from the Sixt Rental Car. They also tried to upgrade my car but demanded additional funds and sell products i did not need. When i declined to purchase more of same insurance from the Sixt Rental Car location as i already purchased one from the Travelocity, the Sixt Rental Car location offered to cancel my booking without any penalties which i agreed. A day later, i was charged $858.44 for the rental car and the insurance that i never got. When i reached out to the Sixt Rental Car, they refused to take my call. When i reached out to a **************** Agent with ***********, they acknowledged that some Rental Car locations do not accept the rental car insurance the Travelocity sells, but it's was up to the Sixt Rental Car to provide refund, not Travelocity despite the Travelocity was the one sold me the rental car insurance that was not honored by the rental car company they were using to leave their rental cars. I am scammed out of $858.44 by both Travelocity and Sixt Rental *********** and I want my money back.

SCAM SCAM SCAM. Rented a car out of ***** location returned 4 days later to *********************** location. Car sat in our driveway almost the entire time. A day later I receive an email stating 2 scratches and they wanted me to send proof that I did not do it. They are charging me $812 I only wish I read all the reviews prior to renting. If I have too I will contact my lawyer as Sixt seems to be in business only to scam people.

Insurance Fraud!! Scam!! And racism!! My sister and I (appeared as two Asian ladies) rented a car from this company in Ft. ********** in October, 2024. 3 days after I returned the car, I received a claim that the car was scratched. A month later I got an invoice of $540. They can only provide me the after pictures but not before pictures. I sent them a deposition statement with a picture I took at the time, which SIXT ignored. At the same time, ***** claim of the damages are the same picture I sent ******* addition, the agent had spent over 15 minutes to sell me their own insurance plans. The car was not the same class of the car I reserved. They did not give us the car we reserved, instead, they gave us a pre-scratched car and tried to blame us for the scratches. Our photos prove it and they ignored our photos. This particular car was singled out at the key station while other customers were getting their car in the parking lot. When we checked the car and found all the damages and the girl at the key station IGNORED us and told us that they were all documented. Meanwhile there was no person at the checkpoint when the car left the garage. So the accusation of this claim has no proof. BEWARE!!!!!!!

WARNING! Sixt rental is extremely unscrupulous and I felt obligated to let others know. Shortly after returning a car they emailed me a damage claim of $1,100 for a wheel scratch that was we not only didnt do but would normally be a $50-$100 fix. Asked them for proof of repair documentation and they declined and continued to come after me. Also returned the car with a full tank and they billed me a $35 fuel charge. Also paid a parking ticket we had and Sixt tried to bill me even though it was previously paid. They dont deserve to be in business. Watch out they're a scam!!

This company is a scam. I tried to rent a car from them. Prepaid online to get the rate. When I went there, they didn't have the car I wanted. Then I said so give me something equivalent to that, they didn't have the car. Then we asked for a refund. they wouldn't give it to **. Then we asked for another car. They wanted to charge us more. We gave them debit card, they wouldn't take it. Gave them credit card, their system wouldn't take it. Then we left without renting the car. But they still refuse to give us a refund. Their online customer service said the front desk people from the Sixt that we tried to rent wouldn't approve. I gave them the location and reservation so they can get the exact location. I said how can they charge me for a car I didn't refund? It's been very painful. The worse treatment by the people at the counter. The guy got two other **** to intimidate me to leave without getting the situation resolved.
