I have had flood insurance (required) through Allstate for a few years and paid through my escrow account with my mortgage lender, Chase. I had tried to cancel the insurance multiple times to switch to another lender as it was more affordable (lloyds of London). I didn't get responses from the agent and my mortgage lender paid the renewal for the flood insurance to Allstate. At the same time I was getting another policy via Lloyds - I have that policy now through Lloyds, but have also, then, paid Allstate flood insurance so am double paying. The challenge was that the Lloyds one starts 5/27/2022 and they are saying they cant cancel my policy as there was a lapse between 5/23 and 5/27. Now, the challenge is that not only do I not get my $2400 back from Allstate (and paid $900 to Lloyds already), but I can't cancel Lloyds because the Allstate people can't seem to produce my policy. I've contacted them probably 15 times and always get a runaround with people not sure what to do and the Allstate online portal says the policy is expired. I would like to (a) cancel my Allstate policy and get a refund or (b) if that is not possible per Federal flood insurance policy (which is what Allstate told me... not sure it's true), then get my policy so I can cancel Lloyds. I also will switch from Allstate anyway next renewal cycle as this is ridiculous and I've never experienced such inept customer service in my life (in addition to the policy being more than double). I am adding the policy from Lloyds as Allstate said they need to see it if they were to cancel (which some people at Allstate told me I could and others told me I can't). You can also see the previous Allstate policy number on their website/my allstate site but then you see on the 'my flood insurance site' that connects to Allstate, that it says expired. Finally, I'm also attaching the Chase notice that shows I paid the $2415 and it they confirmed the check was cashed.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I did receive two calls from the person at Allstate which was appreciated, however, I don't have any resolution still at this time. I am still requesting a cancellation of the Allstate policy and refund, and if they cannot due this due to laws, a copy of the policy and now, would like some kind of reimbursement for the other insurance policy (Lloyds of London) I have that I cannot cancel because I don't have an allstate one. I am paying $900/year for that one and its been two months of double insurance now (had that once since the end of May).

We were hit from behind on 5/22/22. We were driving our brand new *** X3. This is a leased vehicle and per our lease contract if an accident occurs we are to have it repaired using oem parts. We took the car to a *** certified repair center. Allstate gave us a preliminary estimate grossly low and showing after market parts. We were without the car but still making payments until 7/15/22. They put us in a rental car. When the car was finally fixed and we picked it up Allstate refused to pay the shops $65 labor rate. We ended up having to pay $789.16 out of pocket. Then when we submitted the rental reimbursement receipt they only paid $1104 of the $1500 rental ****. So we have been forced to pay $1198.54 out of pocket for an accident that we were not at fault for. Allstate has a very bad reputation for doing this and must be stopped.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Allstate owes me $789.16 for damages to my vehicle. The department of insurance is speaking with them but the complaint with the BBB has nothing to do with that. This company has the worst reputation out of all insurance companies for doing exactly what they are doing to me. It must stop. The body shops labor was only $65 per hour. This is well under the national average. Not only have I reported them to the BBB and the department of insurance but I am in the process of bringing a lawsuit against their client that hit me. They need a F rating.

On 5/10/22 I was hit by a motorist whose insurance is E Surance (Owned by Allstate). I took my vehicle in for repairs on 5/13 as the company acknowledged their insured was at fault. It has been sitting at the shop since then and they have not yet approved the invoice. The last correspondence i received from them was that they received the estimate on 6/29 and it could take up to two weeks to approve. It has yet to be approved and calls and emails go unanswered despite every attempt to contact them I want the company to approve this estimate asap to finish my vehicle, and would like compensation for depreciation of the vehicle's loss in value as a result of the accident. Last year I had my home insurance cancelled because allstate did not send em the bills to the correct address.I spoke to a ****** who told me to pay the year in full in the amount of around $1500 and the insurance **** would be cleared. I made the payment in full and now they are charging me $290.43, as the remaining balance due when I had absolutely no remaining balance due as I had paid in full.Im reporting this because they will not clarify and they never sent me communication of the premium going up or changing price. I feel this is unethical and dishonest that they will not keep their words. What ********* said was that ******* didnt o wow ah to was paying and took my word for it when he was the one to tell
me which amount I was paying in full at a discounted price.
BBB please add this complaint to this company as they are not going to address and resolve my problem, knowing the other case is closed with the excuse ******* used to close it as satisfactory but without adding any oficial notes to the file that I had paid the premium in full.

The last week of 3/2022 ******************************* (husband) contacted **** to advise her that we were cancelling all insurance coverage with Allstate. We had home and auto with Allstate for over 25 years but were not happy with how recent accident coverage was handled. After a long conversation with **** trying to keep us with Allstate ******** agreed to ask me to call and discuss situation with her. ******** agreed but if she did not hear from me by the end of the day to cancel all policies. We thought this had happened until we received phone call from collections stating that we owed Allstate ******. After researching why, we discovered that policies were not cancelled as asked until several days into April. After several phone calls with agency **** agreed that the ****** should not be billed to us and we were also owed an additional refund amount for our homeowners' policy. On 6/14/22 **** agreed to resolve issues. 7/12/22 email resent asking for follow up with no response as of 7/25/22. I did submit insurance declarations to collections 7/25/22 in an effort to resolve issue with collections.Business Response

I have been an All State Policy Holder for more than 15 years. I recently had water damage in my home due to air conditioning malfuction. An **** Repair person came to the home and fixed the damage, but not before water damage was done. . All State refused to send an adjuster to my home for inspection of said water damage. All State spoke to the **** Company who told All State the water damage was not an on-going issue. All State has denied this claim without any reports sent to the Policy Holder and All State refuses to send an Adjuster to the home for review.Business Response

I have already filed a complaint and this company has done nothing to solve anything this company has not responded or done anything to take care of the problem. There insured n fact the only contact other than a representative telling me they would take care of this issue was a email telling me someone else was assigned as a adjuster. Then I still have not spoken or have had any contact with anyone from this company. My car has been crashed for almost a month and not one person has contacted me or told me anything thats going on with my car. My body shop still has not heard from them I have sent them emails and messages and no responses. I call the new person assigned and still the same thing a message that says they r out of the office. How is this a resolution to my complaint to close it stating they have handled it. This needs to be on there record if they wish to keep a good rating they need to do there jobs and take care of customers. They have a horrible record with all the local body shops as a company that is a nightmare to do business with and the public needs to know who they can stop doing business with them. When r they going to pay for my rental car I have over ******* out of pocket? I didnt cause the crash its there insured and there responsibility. Late in March, I went back and forth with Allstate Insurance about getting my car off of my policy, as it officially belonged to my ex-wife after the divorce. We even called Allstate while we were at the **** getting her the new license plate in her name. They kept giving us red tape and the run-around. Finally I informed them that if they didn't get the car off the policy, that I would cancel the policy all together. On March 21st I made my monthly payment to Allstate Insurance for $70.63. I started my new Insurance company Liberty Mutual, 9 days later, and they informed Allstate I was with them. On May 5th, Allstate emailed me about a past due **** and I reminded them that I cancelled that policy. On July 18th, I received a letter from a collection agency hired by Allstate, to collect $49.54.Business Response

On or around the week of June 13,2022 there was a bad hail/rain storm. It caused my gutter to fall, my shingles fell off and I got water damage in a few rooms of my house. On 7/6/2022 I filed a claim with Allstate and on 7/9/2022 *** (from Allstate) and his roofing crew came out to my house and did a full inspection of my house and roof. *** determined the damages were $3,267.21.I called *** once I received the estimated cost he wrote up and mentioned to him he left out the gutter and two rooms. I asked was it not covered? He responded by saying he would add them once he got back from his 4 days off. He also referred me to a contractor to repair the roof. I had a crew that started in the inside.On 7/19/2022 a representative from ****** came out was very rude and said you need a new roof Allstate is the worst at approving claims. Stood for hours looking at my roof. Wanted me to pay a $1k deductible to do the inside repairs the same day. I told him I was going to hire him for the roof work only. He got upset and left. Tried calling him and got no answer. I called ****** and spoke to a rep and he agreed with Allstates original estimate. On 7/21/2022 *************************** called me so I can add my banking information to pay the claim out. I mentioned to him the things that were left out. I added the banking information pressed ****** to send the photos over so I can start the repairs. ****** called and said they were covering the roof but not the inside repairs because it was normal wear and tear. Which its not true it was cause due to the storm. This has been the worst experience I ever went through and need help getting my insurance company to stand by there word and repair what need to get repaired.Business Response

File a Home Owners ********************** Claim with Allstate on June 17, 2022. Upstairs bathroom cabinet, ************* was damaged to a burst water line. Spoke with the Allstate Adjuster ************************* about the claim and was told that Allstate would not honor the claim due to an outdated policy that did not include paying claims caused by water line damage only structural claims would be compensated for damage. Have spoken to the local agent *********************** of Roman *********************** I explained the problem with him and he was suppose to expedite the claim and possibly get something done. He has not. This claim was filed over a month ago and no one from Allstate or Roman ********************** has reached out to me concerning this damage to my home. No one at Allstate even sent anyone out to dry up the water. Mildew is likely to be in the ************** and there were people in the house during and even now since the waterline burst. The premiums have been paid to Allstate for over 17 years since I acquired the house through a divorce settlement and even before my ex husband I had Allstate. Since I had the insurance in my name no agent has ever updated nor spoke to me about the policy in all these years. Premiums have been paid on time to Allstate but now they will not cover the house when it's needed. This is not good and certainly unfair to me as a homeowner.
