This is the worst bank I've encountered in my life. $7/mo. to charge for checking. 3 business days for external transfers. And it is incredibly difficult to close your account. I wish I could give them 0 stars.

I have never felt safer with any other bank. I was called about a potentially fraudulent transaction on my credit card. I would have never known that this perchance was made. I was sent a new card and the transaction was declined. I have also been called about a check that someone else wrote the name it was made out to, due to it not being my handwriting. I will never use a different bank. Thank you PNC!

I have used PNC Mobile Bill *** app for years. A few days ago upon viewing my account balance I discovered a **** balance. I knew this was a mistake and went into my account to review the activity. To my surprise I discovered PNC paid all my bills twice! I had to go into the Bill *** function and delete duplicate payments schedule on nearly all my bills. They were scheduled within days of each other. As a result, my account was in an overdraft status. I had to transfer funds from my reserve and growth accounts and another deposit from another bank account I have outside of PNC to rectify this error. So, I call PNC customer service and point out to them what happened on my account and I was told that I authorise them to double pay all of my creditors for this month, and that their bill pay app is infallible and I must have authorised these extra payments. Firstly, why would I double pay all of my creditors? It was clear to me that P and say does not oversee or review their Bill pay app for unusual activity or anything that deviates from the norm. Their bill pay app cost me $150**** dollars to put my account right. PNC customers, if you use the mobile app Bill pay function be sure that you review your pending payments vigilantly because if you dont errors will occur within your account and PNC will blame it on you and take no accountability for their lack of oversight of the bill pay functioning. No app is infallible. However, PNC wants you to believe that any billing mistakes that are made are made solely by you because they claim that the app is totally customer driven. The app couldnt possibly be totally customer driven. Thats like saying, you could go to a bank and walk up to the window and make deposits and withdrawals without any teller being present. Thats not accounting for any ATM banking. ATMs make mistakes, financial computerised applications make mistakes. Lack of oversight equals you are going to be out of pocket $$$. Be careful using this app!

The worst banks I've ever banked with. I signed up with bbva bank after bout 2 years pnc randomly bought them out and then proceeds to charge me for my 2 free checking accounts for 10 months before I relize, when I asked they said I was being reimbursed for those charges.I checked next month n wasn't reimbursed.I called again the manager could not give me a straight answer on why they were stealing money out of my account. Its not just the 14$ a month charges I was lied to about, was also the fact they never told me if I don't use a pnc atm when I pull money out ill pay the atm fee of 3 to 4 dollars then pnc doesn't tell u they also charge you that same amount but do it sneaky,2 or 3 days later so it looks like you were charged for the atm fee of the atm, when its them taking that same amount out again for themselves. I can't get one manager to understand that what they did was essentially stole quite a bit of money from my whilst I had no idea and was not informed anything. When I told them I never approved them to take money, they say you bank with us. I told them I didn't choose bank with you or I would have came to you. I banked with bbva and they didn't rob me. Which all the managers had the same response. When the bank was switched everyone was sent letter to inform the information.I told them, you guys sent 4 or 5 envelopes full of flyers and crap that nobody knew there was Information that you were gonna start robbing them. I also said, u know I don't have a mail box,I never got anything, your taking my money without knowledge, N I get a generic response. The other top worse thing is litterly every night between 1 and 4 am whole bank is shut down for maintenance litterly every day and at that time you can't find out balance, cant call for anything, most the time you cant even use your card.2 weeks ago they shut down everything and I needed gas, I waited over an hour still couldnt use my card ended with trying to make it home n ran outta gas. Worst bank ever??

Fee mill 100%. Do not use their credit card. Online banking is trash, their branch hours aren't convenient and they have 0 rewards. Taking my money elsewhere.

They are money hungry jerks. They cheat people. My husband and i account went into negative 41 dollars. We were like that makes absolutely no sense. So we did some digging and calculating and sure enough it was not accurate. According to our math it was only supposed to be 8 dollars negative. We ended up having to pay the 41. Even though we knew it was wrong. In the beginning when we had them in 2013 they were not that bad but they are a c*** show now. Have been for a few years now. We are switching banks soon. Because pnc is all about themselves not the customers. There is a whole bunch of reasons why they are c*** but it doesn't give me enough space to explain it all.

I gave 1 star because I can't go any lower. I've been with PNC for just about a year and I'm DONE! I gave it a chance because they set up a booth at work, offered a $200 promotion and I needed a LOCAL bank since my primary acct was not with a local bank. BAD DECISION. I knew something was wrong when I had to remind them that they owed me the $200 from the promotion. I was traveling and had a break down and needed a $210. Service for my car. I opted in for overdraft protection so no problem right? Wrong! The service was completed I was short the money and guess what...."DECLINED" I spent the night on the interstate. Mind you I'm 57 and in a town where I didn't know a soul. I walked to McDonald where I spent 12 hrs until someone could come get me . I direct deposit my money monthly and weekly, you gain interest using my money and I can't overdraft my acct for $210. for an emergency. As of today, I will start searching for a better bank that I can't trust has my back in emergencies. And until then, I will choose a prepaid acct, who by the way will make my monies available immediately after my sources are deposited. Rather than holding it an extra 2 days to make interest money off me. PNC I'm done, and I'm taking my business to a bank who respects the poor as well as the rich. And a bank who honors the services that they offer. Customer service says that you honor overdrafting at your discretion. Exactly WHAT does that mean? Who can receive overdraft services? The accounts who make $10,000 deposits every month, but not a 57 yr old woman who's stranded, because she only deposits $3000 a month. May not mean much to you but, I'd rather not do business with you anymore. New banks should take a lesson from the old. Your missing out on good customer relationships.

Theyre always trying to take your money even when your account is set up not to. Youre supposed to not have to pay a fee if you deposit over a certain amount every month, Ive exceeded that time and time again they still charge the fee. If you want your funds available from checks you deposit all the time from the same places at the same time every month, they require a percentage of the check to be paid otherwise you have to wait days to have your funds available. By far the worst bank Ive ever used. Trust me when I say there are wayyyyy better banks out there if you actually want control of your own money. DO NOT go with pnc. Their customer care people are ignorant and know nothing and help with nothing also. Please bank elsewhere. Unless you enjoy having no control over your own money. Or it being taken from you for illegitimate reasons.

Do not get a loan with PNC BANK. They recently reported my auto loan late when it isnt and they are not fixing it. Ill never do business with them again. If you get a deferment they expect the difference due at once on the end of the loan. They sent me some letter that Ive never sign or seen that does not say anything about credit bureau reporting late if its not paid off on deferment. I dont recommend communicating outside of communications through bbb. They say and do anything and wont follow up with info until the complaint is closed to make it look like the customer was satisfied but I simply filed a new one!!

I have a Virtual Wallet Spend (checking) account with PNC that has been dormant for years. This was my first ever bank account and the monthly fees was $0 when I signed up, so I didn't close it even though it was dormant out of loyalty. I was signed up for paperless statements and didn't receive any mail from them. Yesterday I got a "low account balance" email from PNC which was surprising. On investigating, I see that starting from Apr 2020, PNC has started charging $7 monthly maintenance fees *without sending any notification*. So unknown to me, PNC has charged more than $230 in fees! If I was aware of the change in fees policy, I would have maintained a larger balance or taken any of the other steps to avoid the fee, but PNC didn't send any communication regarding this. I contacted customer service immediately and they only repeated the policy which I had already looked up online. I feel cheated out of more than $200 dollars and don't think I can recommend PNC to anyone due to this unethical practice.
